Alright so I have a theory for this song (and apologies for the TED talk length). So yes, obviously the theme of the song was 100% intended to be sensual, but we also know Chan is a master of innuendos and likes to hide deeper messages in sexy lyrics. If you read the lyrics without the visuals I’m pretty sure this song is about his journey of becoming an idol, or at least who he is now in some regard, and how it has been a “rough ride” and how there was only one “route” and direction he could go which is forward. “This train never sleeps” is not only referring to himself and his sleepless nights but also just the process in general in that there are “no breaks” in this life path. However that being said he also did still clearly intend it to be sexy, so I’m pretty sure it was always intended to mean both at the same time, sort of unrelated to each other but still equally something he wanted to share with us. But anyway to answer your question of what do the marks mean, they all actually relate to the songs in their own way. The scratches were just the simple physical representation of hardships, the hands I think have been confirmed to be representing the other members because there were 7 of them, showing I think that he isn’t the only one on this tough journey, and then finally this “I need more” I think is about his obsession (of which he talked about with red lights too) in that he knows how difficult it is and he knows it isn’t always healthy but he still craves more, to do “more”. Anyway, that’s my interpretation of it. I am a Chan bias so obviously this song wrecked me lol, but I love analyzing Skz’s lyrics and undertones so this song has been fascinating to me. Love the reactions as always! You embody our inner thoughts so accurately 😂💕
