If I'm not mistaken, this is the first indication we've gotten that Hell was originally intended to somehow purify souls. How did Lucifer corrupt Hell? What was the mechanism for preparing souls for return to the Tower if not torture and death? Intriguing stuff. And hey, another unmarked! I was not expecting the rescue attempt to go so well. Between the firestorm, the creation of mini-ravines, and of course, smacking Asmodeus down, Mia is killing it. She even got a tail swish from Vin. Nothing but W's in Black Valley (RIP to the unnamed Damall — gone, but never forgotten).

David has the more coherent group but is surrounded by thugs. Mia has to use all her psychological skills to keep her company together but with Josepha she may have gained support, a shoulder to cry on. Although she finally had a girl talk about menses with Julisa. (brilliant! )
