L-Lysine!!! Take 1 pill (1000mg) a day to keep the cold sores away! And if you do have flare ups take 4-5 pills a day until it's gone. Honestly been a game changer for me, stops them coming out if I catch it early, or at worst keeps them really small so they go in a couple of days (rather than weeks!)
