Unless you live in Australia. In that case I’d argue that any sighting of wildlife justifies running for your life. Actually, most of the fauna too. Run. Just run. It’s all out to kill you.

Hello, dear readers. This is going to be a four-parter, and I wanted to post both parts today, but got sidetracked in the afternoon and couldn't write as much as I wanted. So, here's a little story from yesterday: I live in a rural area, and we have a nice big garden and everything. Because of that, we occasionally run into some unexpected guests. It's mostly songbirds. Every once in a while, we might run into a hedgehog, or in one case, an entire family of them. However, this was the first time something like this happened. We just recently replaced our front door, and since the concrete under the threshold was still curing, we've yet to fill the small gap between them properly. Yesterday, I was planning to walk to the grocery store, and just as I was about to leave, I noticed something weird in the entrance-way. Namely, a cute little snek. It was a young one, about fifteen centimeters long from head to tail, and it was just chilling on the floor. I checked to see if it was venomous (we have two subspecies of vipers that live in the region that have similar coloration), but it had round pupils, so I quickly realized that it was just a smooth snake that somehow slithered its way inside. In the end, I picked it up, put it into an empty pickle jar so that could show it to the family, and then let it go at the back of the vegetable garden. It wasn't a dramatic story, but it was still a surprising one. Just remember: not all sneks are angry murderhobos, and some of them are pretty cute, but you should be careful with them and make sure you can properly recognize them before you pick them up. Just in case. Anyhow, thanks for reading all that. See you all on Monday, with a short fourth part. We'll be harvesting on the weekend (we have a whole lot of potatoes), but once that's done, I'm planning to pen down an extra chapter next week. Stay tuned, and have a nice weekend.
