Full render test from the new animation
🕑 Added 2017-02-19 17:40:14 +0000 UTC Been posting quite a few animation tests throughout the recent weeks, which of course were all rendered at draft quality. With the animation slowly approaching the render phase I thought it would be nice to give a little preview of how everything looks fully rendered. Of course this is only a single frame, but I hope it already gives a taste of the final quality. Besides rendering out all of the effects I've done a bit of environment work as well, I've also applied a few minor tattoos to the blue vixen to give her a slightly different look without going overboard with the alterations there.I'm using this weekend to do some internal tests and fix some render bugs that can occur in motion. Then tomorrow I want to start rendering the animation. Render time is presumed to be slightly over a week, despite the animation being rather short I'm rendering everything at the highest quality settings, for that the final quality should be pure eyecandy though! <:

My system is an 8-core Xeon based workstation, rendering however is entirely done on a slightly aged GTX 970. Note that rendering more than 3000 frames at this quality, an internal render resolution of 4096x2304 pixels with 4xMSAA, within slightly more than a week is actually considered fast. The render time per frame here lies around two minutes for me, despite elaborate fur shading, GI, and other effects that usually cripple other commercial renderers. I've had the occasional conversation with other 3D artists out of this community, and the render times they experienced for their more elaborate renders were mutiple hours for a single frame. Specifically ask people that render fur when you get the opportunity. Long story short, rendering an entire CG animation in under two weeks is pretty quick, especially when it's not done on a render farm, but a single PC. (:

Hopefully so! It should look even better in motion! ^_^

So much hype! /;-;\

Glad you do! Fur rendering alone already makes a vast difference!

Perhaps the sword marks someone's dead, like in Dark Souls~ <:>
