Cant wait for more

Yod

I still wonder why no one really ever connected dots about how timely was clone army created. On top of that on request of jedi w/o didnt event know themselfs. Like how tf someone gives u milions of killing machines and everyone is like, Nice.

AMR MNR

I see. That explains it much more. My assumption was rather off the mark here, as I believed that he would have already found where the Bulwark Fleet was thanks to the PRIESTESS network. As that is not the case, PRIESTESS is still an incredible boon to possess. Presumably, it would also capture communiques from our dear Palps going into the Outer Rim... I'm still quite excited to see what comes next.

Mirrthful

PRIESTESS only tells them communiques coming in and out of Coruscant. There are suspected fleets deeper in the Deep Core, such as at Odik. There are fleets to the east, at Vulpter, Rendili, Corellia... Rain doesn't know where the Republic will come from. He's in their backyard, and he doesn't know the roads arounds, that's why he's relying on the Givin to suss out as many possible Deep Core spacelanes as possible and dropping interception frigates on them. Who's to say whether Coruscant would even know someone had already redeployed? The Deep Core fleets are completely cut off from Coruscant. Admirals like Honor Salima and Octavian Grant hardly even communicate with Coruscant at all.

AMR MNR

I am somewhat confused here... Why do they need to set up forward warning posts if they already have access to basically every single republic military movement via the star charter and the courscant satellite monitoring software? I get scouting for alternative escape routes and all, but there shouldn't be a need to monitor for enemy fleet movements here...

Marcin

Rain couldnt hold it anyway... before Columex he could just retreat. And his tactic was based on the fireship.. so he went in knowing he wont keep it.

FuschiaKnight

On one level, that's correct—but on the other level, Rain was still forced to retreat from a vitally important Foundry world, and Plo Koon held and maintained the initiative for most of the battle—Rain's internal narration even made the point that he was off balance and the battle was not going to his plan for all he planned on meeting the Jedi General. Plus, the general course of the battle suggests a Republic victory—the Jedi task force pressing in without taking much damage, with the only wrinkle ultimately being the opposing commander using a command nexus as a fireship, but regardless the CIS was forced from the field with casualties worse than the Republic's.

Trailblazer

We had a Chekov's material, Chekov's ship, Chekov's fallen Jedi, and now we have a Chekov's nation building! I have a feeling that Rain will be on his own in the future.

Marcin

Spy noooooooo.... why would you think so ?

Marcin

He didnt read the books :P

Dae of the Past

Honestly, at this point they will probably ask him if he knows how Palpatine is spying on them. Not that Rain knows, but he could probably guess. I hope Rain tries his hand at being vague and mysterious (like he did with Ventress), accidentally ends up leading them to the Delta Source, and afterwards the Jedi are like “Damn… the Hydra knows everything…” Also, to be fair to Rain, he’s not the one finding all these planets. It’s the people under him one of which is a space wizard and the other is a math wizard. After that idk I guess it’s luck (the force).

Dae of the Past

We have the Yoda faction and the Palpatine faction (Anakin), and now the Rain faction.

Dae of the Past

Plo and Gallia: You know what? Let’s just ask our enemy for answers, HE seems to know what he’s doing. Meanwhile Rain, looking at a bunch of planet names: …I have no idea what I’m doing.

THE ONE ABOVE ALL THE LIVING TRIBUNAL

God I can't wait for the meeting and the revelation. (Tho they already suspect palpatine due to rains effect on force users memories)

Duke of Coffee

That why the Sith manage to wiped them from the board.... leading to those films...

Sean McClain

We officially have a new faction, before they were just an Intel op but now they ate doing light treason, so new faction!

Mad Max

Not to mention that he actually wanted to preserve Plo's life. Otherwise, the council would be short their most experienced for the loss of one fire ship.

Kaywye

Jedi not only complacent and set in their ways, but actively lazy (if that's not an oxymoron). For a group that are supposedly shepherding the Republic towards peace and justice, this is more ominous than even the films portray.

Hailhound

“So… Admiral Bonteri, as you may know we suspect there is a Sith in the-“ “It’s Palpatine” lol. Yeah I really can’t see any reason for Rain not to tell them. The head of the Republic secretly controlling the head of the Confederacy to keep the war going is just as bad for the Republic as the Confederacy

TuscanKB

The Chancellor gifted Shaak Ti a bunch of Ch'hala trees to plant around the temple, how nice of him! I’m sure he mentioned the part where the trees are a secret system of spying on the Jedi 🤫.

Duke of Coffee

Looking at the wiki for this and man who knew the Delta source would be from trees donated by the Sith himself. And Tython rediscovered by Rain men is going to be interesting.

Puncake1102

>Prakith and Tython Every Star Wars nerd just perked up at those mentions, damn shame that Rain doesn’t know their value (yet)

Marcin

Not sure id say Plo actually beat Rain , he went to delay the republic and did that. Using ships that werent combat capable ;D

Null

Thank you for the chapter

KnightofTempest

Rain stumbles across the Jedi Homeworld and Palpatine's deep core redoubt in the same action. For a Force Blank, that's awfully councidental. . .

Kana

Some smart Jedi using their brains inatead of turning it off. If only Yoda did the same.

Bishop7053

I forgot rain doesnt know a out lore outside the movies, cause letting the jedi k ow about tython would be a major win for them. Acting as a secret planet to go too should palps plan to become emperor fail to be stopped. Also great to see that people plan to actually talk and solve issues that way.

Vikaruss

Delta Source is part of legends canon. It is from the Thrawn Trilogy originally iirc.

TwoJacksAndAnAce

I’d say things are getting interesting, but this story is always interesting. You manage to make even the parts of the story that would be dull entertaining to read.

Max

While it is a bit of a niche word with narrow and unusual applications, "(to) cast" past tense is cast. The forms are: (to) cast, cast, cast.

Straven

The battle hydra might know who he is? God I love this story especially parts that make me think wth is going on!

Lincoln B.

Gahhhh I can't wait for next week!!!!

Jacob

This should be good the pieces finally start to move together

Quasi-Lesbian Ghost Killer

So we've got a blatantly suspicious 'technician' who's been wheedling all sorts of things he shouldn't know out of poor lonely Iskat, in the room filled with Palpatine's donated spy-trees. Most notably, Barriss gets the message to meet in the funeral halls, meaning they'll be bugged in the future if Iskat hadn't leaked that already. Rain's doing the good work of clearing out Palpatine's secret hyperlane, so no Grievous or Dooku jumping into the Core to cause trouble like in Episode 3. Tython's an ancient Jedi temple, so if he comes to terms with Plo and Gallia and warns them about Order 66, it'd be a good spot for the Jedi to start building a fallback close to Coruscant but shielded by Empress Teta.

Mrsean22

Man Rain and his ships are just hitting everything that has value while fortifying the places he needs to either defend or escape. The big thing is hitting the agricultural planets to basically starve the Core. No one expected a attack from the Deep Core so Rain took the opportunity. Then we have Barris, her boss and Plo Koon going to see Rain and hopefully be told who the Sith is. Honestly if they ask Rain straight he probably tell them. Especially if it benefits him.

FuschiaKnight

Also, Rain found Tython! But because he only knows about the Star Wars movies, he obviously doesn't know about the significance of Tython, since only Ossus was mentioned in the movies. Rain certainly is running into a bit of a cornucopia of lore relevant worlds in the Deep Core.

FuschiaKnight

The detail about the trees donated by Shaak Ti and the somewhat suspicious technician could suggest that the SB speculation that the Delta source is the bugged trees is correct. It also looks like Rain may get his Jedi assistance with displacing Palpatine. The public version of a previous chapter said that while his plan had contingencies for the Jedi not being on his side for a coup against the Sith, it would be vastly preferable and indeed the opposite woupd be a very unpleasant eventuality.
