Well, buddy wasn’t wrong about the mystery. Last fleet that dipped into hyperspace for unknown reasons, without communication, and was never seen again save for rumor was the Katanna Fleet. And while 1000 starships may be much smaller now, they are all capable, all their commanders are well-blooded, and they are leaving everything behind because they are(at this time) unwaveringly loyal to one man. Very Kerensky. All that to say, I love this fic, and thank you so very much for writing. Godspeed with you Service, and may you find your hearth warm at the end of your journey.

I'm not very sure what to think? Rain is going Rogue but would all these people going with him not be worried about no longer being welcomed in the CIS? Unless Tann can't/won't say she lost control of Rain. Though Rain thinking war for the CIS is over is kinda naive? Knows Palpatine is still out there. If nothing else Rain is gonna try saving his girlfriend.

Until this whole story, my attachment to the Speratist movement was...marginal, at best. Figured it was about rich businessmen and industrialist trying to make profit rather than jump through the senate hoops of the republic...and yes there are those types in the CIS. This story has made me realize that it isn't just those Uber greedy folks, but also regular people just wanting to be free of the massive boondoggle the republic had become. Well done, and Rain's "ending" as it were, was particularly poignant. Excellently written. Hope you still have something in the tank for this story when you get out of the service, but if not, we'll this was a really good conclusion.

Part of the fun of Rain going rogue, and still being a ghost, is pulling a bluff of "oh, you think Taan doesn't REALLY back me? How do you think I got a fleet full of new ships, I tripped and fell on them when disappeared? I'm a deniable asset babyyy". Easy play the first few times he needs something from a CIS asset who might not already favor him.

Looking at how the Permelian Armada started, less than 100 officers in one room for 48 hours mapping out an impossible defense, to now a 1000 ship armada doing an impossible rescue operation. That's more Star Wars than anything in the last 10 years.
