I wrote the first chapter for Sublight Drive pretty much two years ago, to chase down casual plot rabbit after rewatching the entire The Clone Wars show. Not sure what I expected then, probably just another SW fanfic slop to sate my creative urges, but it certainly wasn't a hundred chapters and one of the most popular SW fanfictions out there. I like to think I've made it to the big leagues with this one. (lol)
As many of you already know, I'm ending Sublight Drive here because my country mandates two years of military service. Since I will be enlisting, I will have no more time to deal with all this, and thus I've decided to wrap it up while I still can. I don't want to leave on a hiatus; a lot can change in two years, and I doubt I'll have any interest in revisiting this story.
That being said, all of you discerning readers may have noticed that the ending of Sublight Drive seems like setting up for a sequel. That's because I don't really intend on giving Sublight Drive a 'hard' ending. Depending on what service branch I end up in, I may find myself with more free time than I anticipated, and thus might decided to write a couple side stories or what not.

I will be mostly active on SB, due to its forum format, so any extra material will be found there. This includes the final map of the galaxy, and a brief timeline into the future of this AU--which will be posted on RR as well. It will, however, not be posted here on Patreon.
On that note, what will happen to this site? Well, I'll won't delete the page, as I intend to use it in the future, but for now I will unpublish the sole tier so that none of you will get charged. As for what I intend to use this page for... maybe an original story in the future? I don't know. I'm keeping my options open. So, y'know, if you enjoy what I write so much enough to stick around, you can look out for that.

In the meantime, if you want to write your own continuation of Sublight Drive, or your own sidestories, or apocrypha, feel free. It's Star Wars. Do what you want. You can also post it on the the story's SB page up above. If I see it, which I will, I'll threadmark it! (I love having my job done for me for free)
Anyway, I think that's all from me. I just want to let you all go knowing that I am so, so grateful for all of your support. Especially all of you who unwisely decided that this story is worth paying for. Especially especially those of you who have been with me since literally Day 1 and stayed with me until the end of the ride. You're all crazy.
And also kept me alive through my college years. So, thanks!

This has been the highlight of my week, and I'm really going to miss it. Magnificently done. Most fanfics rely heavily on existing well known characterization of the canon characters as a shortcut and safety net for the writing. The heavy focus on obscure characters in this story instead relies so heavily on the author's ability to make the reader invested in the characters. I think this Patreon is a testament to your skills. All the best with your future endeavours. You have a hell of a talent writing an incredibly engaging story.
