No, Greg has always referred to the soul seed as 'system', an affectation of his former world. Correspondingly, Olivia adopted the same name for it. As for the "ascendant" part, Morpheus already explained the ranks to Greg back in book one. Greg, however, never had a good reason to reveal that he already knew all this until the events of the previous chapter. Besides, Olivia had already once implied that such a powerful system didn't just come about on it's own. They both know it has a creator, Olivia just doesn't know that Greg knows the true creator.

As usual the wisdom is great. What I'm confused about is the "ascendant" and "system" conversation. Does it imply that she knows that Roka knows about her master?
