The plunging neckline and daring slit up the side ensured she caught the eye of every man in the room—and several women as well. She'd never attended a party like this so scantily clad; the crimson dress was worth three times as much as her usual suit, even before she was decked out in diamonds. With poise, she plucked a flute of champagne from a passing silver tray and brought it to her lips, sipping quietly as she kept an eye out for Langston.
Hundreds of guests milled about at the charity event, and Misty wove through the crowd expertly. She even went so far as to place a few bids for the silent auction, all on MI6’s pay, of course. She’d planned her meeting with Langston, but the man continually failed to appear. It was a night of firsts because after a few hours, Misty’s feet were aching, and she hadn’t even started her mission. Quickly she ducked away into a corner and opened up her compact, hitting the hidden button to activate the walkie-talkie.
“He’s not here.”
“He was on the list, he must be late.”
“Harrington, I spent over an hour on my hair alone, this had better not have been for nothing!”
“Just get back out there, when you see him, everything will click into place.”
Misty snapped the compact closed in frustration, then raised an eyebrow and grinned a little before opening and snapping it shut a few more times. It was…oddly satisfying. No wonder women always did that in the movies. She was just about to step back out into the party when a voice carried around the corner.
“Langston! So good to see you, my man. That was quite the bid you made.”
“Come now, it’s called a silent auction for a reason.”
“Still, I imagine with a bid like that, you’ve already picked out a spot on your wall for the painting.”
Misty stopped listening; that voice was Langston. Samuel Langston, her target, was right around the corner. All of a sudden, that confidence faded, and her stomach became a bundle of nerves. This was it, she’d lay eyes on Langston and the mental programming would kick in; she’d be attracted to men and she could officially start her mission to seduce the man. It was oddly hard to fight her instinct to run; she’d never fled a mission before but she was truly scared of losing this last little bit of herself.
“Come on, Misty.” She whispered. She was still MI6’s best agent, and she was going to prove it. This transformation would not take her mantle from her.
After one last deep breath, she stepped back out into the party and deliberately walked into the back of the man in front of her.
“Oh, I am so sorry.” She said in her lowest, most seductive tone. “I do hope I didn't make you spill your drink?”
The man turned, and there he was, just as he was in the pictures: tall, dark and handsome with those piercing green eyes. There was a moment, and Misty waited for the mental changes to kick in only to feel…nothing. There was no attraction whatsoever.
“No problem at all, these big crowded events get the best of both of us.” Langston smiled. “Samuel Langston, nice to meet you.”
“You’re the big weapons tech developer I have heard so much about.” Misty smiled, effortlessly pushing her confusion to the back of her mind. She could worry about it later, she had a job to do.
“It seems everybody I meet these days knows me before I know them.” He replied. “Though…you do look familiar…”
The perfume billboards had apparently been rushed out and put up earlier that day. If Harrington was right, Langston should have seen one being put up from his office window but of course, Misty couldn’t tell him that.
“Perhaps I just have one of those faces.”
“Oh, I doubt that. Your face is far too beautiful to be mistaken for any other,” he said charmingly, and Misty giggled and batted her eyelashes.
What the hell was happening? Why was she feeling nothing for this man? She would go through with the mission to seduce him regardless but it was going to be a hell of a lot harder when the idea of sleeping or even kissing him repulsed her on a physical level.
“It was lovely to meet you, but I am sorry, my driver is here.”
“But…you just arrived,” Misty said in surprise before she could stop herself. “I mean, we only just started talking.”
“Sorry, my dear, another engagement calls.”
And just like that, he was gone, disappeared into the crowd without so much as a look back. Misty stood frozen in shock. She'd never failed so badly before; she hadn't even managed a full conversation, let alone a seduction. Her cheeks burned with humiliation, and she quickly found comfort in another flute of wine; what was she going to tell Harrington? Misty grit her teeth, she just had to get out there and catch him before he left, maybe break a heel and see if she could worm her way into his car.
As she scanned the room for Langston again, the crowd suddenly parted. All eyes turned towards the entrance, where a woman made an entrance that commanded attention. Misty's breath caught in her throat; the woman walking in was breathtaking. Her dress was a masterpiece of midnight silk that clung to her every curve. The deep emeralds she wore sparkled with every movement, perfectly matching her striking green eyes and contrasting her dark, glossy hair. The room seemed to hold its breath and Misty felt her heart hammer. She had faced countless dangers and seduced many men and women in the line of duty, but she had never been as instantly smitten as she was now. The woman’s presence was magnetic and without meaning to Misty took a few steps in her direction before she could stop herself. Without a word, the woman glided across the floor, her emerald eyes locking onto Misty's with an intensity that made her feel as though she were the only person in the room. It was as if a silent understanding passed between them, an unspoken connection that left Misty momentarily breathless. She was feeling everything she expected to feel with Langston, but for this woman instead.
"Hello," the woman said, her voice smooth and rich yet oddly impatient. "I couldn't help but notice you from across the room."
Something in her voice told Misty she was lying—well, not lying, but not telling the whole truth. The crowd was so thick; how could she possibly have spotted her so quickly?
"I noticed you too," she replied, recovering and remembering all her training. "in fact, I think everybody did."
The woman extended a hand, and Misty took it, feeling the cool, soft skin against her own.
"My name is Isabella," she said. "And you are?"
"Misty, Misty Allure," she replied, her voice steadier now, though her heart still raced.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful woman. Shall we get some air? The ballroom is lovely but a bit stifling, don’t you think?"
Misty nodded, the mission could wait. Langston was probably already gone anyway. They walked together towards the back of the event, where several smaller rooms had been made available in the hotel for guests to mingle. Isabella opened the large glass doors, and they stepped out onto a terrace. The night air was a welcome relief from the heat of the ballroom. Again, warning bells rang in Misty's head. This was too convenient; this was how she would sweep a mark off their feet back when she was a man, then isolate. As beautiful as Isabella was, and how strong Misty's attraction to her was, she had to stay focused. She slipped a hand into her purse and slipped the laser lipstick into her palm, just to be safe.
"So, Misty," Isabella began, leaning gracefully against the railing, "what brings you to this event?"
"I'm here for the charity, of course," she said with a practised smile. "And you?"
"The same, naturally. Though I must admit, meeting someone like you makes the evening far more enjoyable."
Misty gave a good-natured laugh and lifted the champagne flute to her lips, just to give herself an extra second to think. She was being seduced for once, not the other way around. Normally, her mission always came first, but there was something so compelling about this woman that he just couldn't bear the thought of being torn away from her. And yet, there was something about her manner. Her spy instincts latched onto something that told her there was more going on than met the eye. This gut instinct had saved her more times than she could count, so she knew better than to ignore it. The question was, was Isabella hiding harmful intentions or was it something else?
“Are you always so forward?” Misty said finally, and Isabella laughed.
“I find it gets things done. Why delay happiness or…pleasure?” She asked coyly.
“The thrill is in the chase, why rush when you can enjoy the ride?”
“Are you saying you want to be chased?”
“Maybe I am.”
Isabella’s eyes became hooded and Misty was mesmerised by them; sharp, green and laser-focused on her. She took another sip only to find her glass empty and Isabella smiled and offered her arm.
“Shall we go get another?”
“I think I can quench my thirst another way.”
Misty leaned in, unable to hold back any longer. Their lips brushed, and instantly, she felt a spark of connection between them. She’d done this a thousand times, with a thousand women but somehow, this felt new and exciting, like a first kiss. In a few ways, it was. Instead of pressing forward to fully claim those lips like she usually would, Misty lingered, letting them brush for a few seconds before pulling back and repeating. They inched closer every time until Isabella’s lips fully closed over her mouth and pressed hard enough that Misty’s neck yielded instantly. “Are you coming?” Isabella asked, half in the car with her arm outstretched.
Misty tried to sort through her instincts; she was sure there was something else going on here but no matter how hard she studied Isabella, she couldn’t pick up a hint of malice. Still, it would be foolish to get in the car; and yet, she took the other woman’s outstretched hand.
“Hopefully, I’ll be coming soon.” She winked and jumped in the back seat.
The ride was a blur of stolen kisses and pleasurable petting. Hands roamed more freely and Misty found herself sitting in the other woman’s lap with one hand in her shirt, slowly circling a nipple with her fingers. This was Langston’s house? Was Isabella really his wife, or girlfriend? She’d lied? Misty swallowed, feeling oddly betrayed and embarrassed for letting her feelings get involved so quickly.
“Yes, things are going great. Sh-uh he, just fell asleep. I will have a look around.”
“Good, Harrington out.”
Misty snapped the compact closed and looked over at Isabella asleep on the bed, what exactly was going on here? She crept through the house until she found the computer, quickly bypassing the security and reading through everything she could find; emails, documents, any sort of correspondence. There was barely anything, certainly nothing personal. It was all business, and not a single bit of it looked sketchy. There were designs for a new type of anti-aircraft missile that looked promising. But nothing to suggest Langston was selling secrets; even his bank accounts were clean. No trace of secret Cayman Island accounts either. One message stuck out to her immediately though, contacts in the government and…MI6. Langston was already talking to somebody within the bureau going by Skylar…she didn’t know that agent; and she knew all the agents.
Misty sat back in the office chair and thought, now that she considered it…Harrington had never told her why they were suspicious of Langston. There hadn't been anything in her file either. Yes, he was secretive, but that was hardly an excuse to get MI6’s best agent to infiltrate their life. There had to be something she was missing.
She started looking into every application she could find, looking for some sort of hidden communication app, when all of a sudden, she found it. A dark web browser was hidden within half a dozen folders. This had to be it. She opened it up and quickly hacked through the system to bring up past browsing history. She expected secret messages, plans for selling state secrets and bitcoin funds, but instead, she found only orders for various chemical substances. What’s more, the list seemed oddly familiar. Misty’s eyes widened when she realised where she had seen them before.
“This is just like the serum used-”
“To turn men into women?” A voice interrupted and Misty spun around in shock; she couldn’t remember the last time somebody got the drop on her, and yet there she was. Isabella stood in the doorway, still naked as Misty was, hands on her hips with a look of anger and betrayal on her face.
“Thank you for reminding me why I never bring people home.”
“You’re Samuel Langston,” Misty said in awe.
“No, I am Isabella Langston.” She replied sternly before sighing. “At least until the serum wears off.”
Isabella’s homemade version of the serum clearly wasn't permanent like hers. Seeing the sadness in her eyes, Misty couldn’t help but feel a little guilty for her frustration. She had something Isabella clearly wanted badly.
“You’re lucky it hasn’t worn off yet.” Isabella continued, “Or I’d call my security company. So I guess now, instead of me sneaking you out the back, we get to sit here. Naked and wait till I change back.”
“I’m going to have to watch you turn back into a man?”
“Believe me, I don’t relish the idea, but I can’t exactly trust you, can I?” Said Isabella as she made her way over to the computer and turned the screen off. “Looking for bank account passwords, were we? I should have known you were too good to be true.”
“You were attracted to me when I started flirting with you,” Misty realised. Why didn't you stay a man?”
“Because I am not one, and the idea of sleeping with you as one disgusts me,” Isabella replied. “I never like being male. If I can help it, I will make sure to appear as often as I have to and spend the rest of my time like this.”
“Explains why Samuel is rarely seen,” Misty muttered under her breath, and Isabella raised an eyebrow.
“Why are you here?” She asked, narrowing her eyes. “You don’t strike me as a common thief or golddigger.”
Misty kept her cool and shrugged.
“I wanted to know more about the gorgeous woman who swept me off my feet, is all…I guess I am nosy.” The best way to lie, she found, was to tell the truth. Nothing she’d said was false.
“You’re lying.”
Misty blinked; her subterfuge had been perfect; yet Isabella saw through it.
“No I-”
“No you’re not…your telling a version of the truth, there is more isn’t there?”
Misty couldn’t help but feel impressed, this woman was even sharper than the profile made out. She stared down at Misty in the seat and leaned over her. Misty felt keenly aware of just how close their faces were, of the fact that all it would take was one extra step and Isabella would be in her lap, naked. Isabella’s gaze was hard as she leaned in close with a husky whisper.
“I think it’s time for a bit of truth…don’t you?”

Ah, in the original draft, Misty's name was going to be Sarah Silver, to match with Jasmine Jewel, but then I decided to make her have more traditional Bond Girl name instead. I thought I'd changed them all but clearly I missed some. Thank you! I will fix that up!

When Misty met Isabella her name switched to Sarah several times. Eventually it was consistently Misty again. Also: "a teasing touch that made her *parents* shudder with want" was very funny but probably a typo.
