Dev Diary #49: Building Levels

dropping by to remind you, that as mentioned in our previous post, monthly billing will resume in 5 days, so better adjust your pledges if you want to change your amount of support. We are amazed by how many of you are sticking with their support for us and thereby enable us to proceed faster than we could otherwise <3
That said, here's another small look at the development. Right now, we are building (see editor window right) and testing (see test server window left) lots of board layouts for date mode in order to develop a comprehensive guideline on what works in a level and what doesn't. Naturally, all the graphics you see are WIP. Different types of spaces and pickups are also reviewed for their impact on the game and how much fun they are and to find the best use cases for them. Last but not least, we test all kinds of movement cards and try to find the right balance between the simplicity needed to think ahead a turn or too and the complexity that makes for cool moves. We are working very closely with our partner's level designer who will do the majority of work in that sector.
At the same time, the collectible boosters are now being integrated into the game and will be tested and explored next.

I see. We have no plans to do that for now since it would actually be quite a lot of work. Hundreds of graphics would need to be changed while designing a new color language e.g. for different types of buttons and their behaviour would be necessary. A dark theme or something could potentially be something to consider one day if there is a considerable demand, but to do that for every girl would definitely exceed our scope by far, sorry :/ x Zanzo
Sorry for confusing. As of right now, ui is sort of pinkish colour. But for example, if you date baby, it changes to purplish with maybe additional flowers or something else on the sides. Or to make it as permanent change sort of like dark theme.
Hey, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. The UI itself stays the same, but you will have the girl on the right interacting with you, your moves and the dialogues and the backgrounds will show the current location.
Looks great. Are u going to change ui depending on a girl (or a separate purchasable/unlockable)?
