I agree with your takes highly even though there are most likely others sadly that dealt with this, or similar, to same treatments and place of dwellings is different. . I think the exact same as you people need to respect others too even their own damn spawn, or kids to some extent n not judge them for the different choices they make or walk in life. Shit, I saw something on the media yesterday because how the world still sadly look at fat women and judge them for no reason. Made me get up and be a strong middle grounds saying there's nothing wrong with fat women wanting to stay plump and beautiful. Others that want to change, or do things differently that's up to them. Besides that there are people who are naturally fat and can't do anything yet are more ok with men being fat, or bigger vs women smh. . I bring that up to point out Tanya's mom in 1 comment saying I am cutting you off until you change in my eyes, and "CHANGE YOUR BODY TOO." She wasn't slick with that last comment if she was meant to be big and beautiful to love food let her. Instead of sounding fucked up to her or judging her especially if she lived her life too a certain way in college yrs or younger!!!

πŸ˜” Parents. You talk *with* your kids; regardless of their age or what they've done. Lecturing, threats, and shouting has been shown, time and time again in clinics and studies, to be entirely more harmful --- not constructive and rienforcing. All it does is make your kids NOT WANT TO GET CAUGHT --- fearing the parents, and not trusting their parents to hear or see them. This is what leads to avoidant anxious attachement, enmeshment, and *young adults* not feeling respected in the boundaries they set for their parents. In all communication, you never go in with the mindset of "I am infallible; I need to fix them." You express curiosities and ask if people are open to feedback. If they say they aren't, you don't give them the unsolicited advice. I wouldn't be at all suprised if this results in Tanya wanting to rebel even harder against her mother. I don't blame her. Everyone *needs* autonomy. Edit: Also; Italian grandparents means you don't leave the dining table from the beginning of your visit 'til the end πŸ˜‚ (my father's sister-in-law's from Italy).

Aw Poor Tanya, Shame she couldn't just have herself a nice stoned snack and call it a day. Either way another amazing comic, thanks for writing it as always.

anthony

I sense upset grandparents incoming if Tanya can’t make that trip.

Not where i was expecting the story to go but I see potential for Tanya's mom to let loose

Melrian

Agreed. I’m not excusing the mother here. Honestly, if I were in her position I’d instead try to find what caused my daughter to resort to drugs so I could help, rather than berate.

Not wanting to disappear πŸ₯Ί

Which means photo sessions and donuts. Poor Tanya though, but on the positive side if she gets money from that she can move out.

This one made me sad honestly... Just bad parenting 101

Gareth1002

Tbf yes, but still.. Shaming is shaming... No mother should be doing that to their kid no matter what, no matter what age she is, no matter what she did... ;-;

dymi hukan

So now she’s gonna have that photo sessions

Melrian

On the one hand, her mother is a serious piece of work. On the other, Tanya really should not have taken that and dug her own grave there.
