I just listened to the podcast and came here to advocate for Peele and Aster, but I see you all have already got that covered. Great work!

I’d throw in Ari Aster as well. He’s really only made two movies so far, so we’ll have to see where he lands, but Hereditary is probably the only horror movie that’s had me looking for the exit out of sheer terror. Let’s just say I’m glad I hadn’t had my kids at the time. If you’ve seen it, you know. The way he makes you sit in that terror moves it from tragedy to horror. Midsommar left me with screwed up dreams for at least a couple of months after, the atmosphere if that film just seeps into you. Speaking as a Swede, I’m amazed a documentary could achieve that.
