Pet insurance is the type of thing I was sure was a scam, but now I recommend it to anyone with a pet (I think I've pissed off some people with my insistence that it's worth it). My dog has needed two leg surgeries, each equivalent to a torn ACL in a person, which would have been $12,000. I have 90% coverage so I paid just $1200. Not sure what I would have done if I didn't have insurance. This is healthy paws insurance, which has been good as far as insurance companies go (not associated other than being a customer).
