discord link is on the chapter release page

Karnnie

I am familiar with word and how to use it. Thanks, I will let you know. You have a discord? is there a link?

Erick Thiemke

I havent compiled book three or four yet so just let me know which chapters you want to work on and I will send them to you on discord. you need to have word and use track changes. it takes about 2 minutes to figure out with a youtube video. i will add your name to the editor credits when the book is published

Karnnie

Sure, I am by no means a professional. I simply enjoy the story. I have been leaving corrections as I read through the chapters. As that is what I have access to.

Erick Thiemke

if you want to edit/check some of the book 3 chapters for fun that is an option but i dont have the capacity to pay two editors. he wont be starting book 3 for a few weeks

Erick Thiemke

i have an editor and if he is no longer interested i will be in touch

Karnnie

I am interested, not sure if you are still looking or not.

Erick Thiemke

No problem!

Hey, after sleeping on it a bit, I think I am actually going to pass. Sorry! I realized how many new commitments the summer brings and I’m unsure I could fit in another big task. Sorry again. 😔

I was an editor for 'Oh great I was reincarnated as a farmer' books 1 and 2 on KU for Benjamin Kerei, but I'm active duty enlisted; so I don't have a ton of free time. Lol

Erick Thiemke

i will create a special discord when I get home to see interest level and what people actually want to put into it

there are three levels of editing. first is grammar and punctuation. The second is called line editing, which focuses on tone consistency. The third level is plot/rewrite and is similar to making sure the mechanics are sound - Baron Starkiller is still Baron Starkiller fourteen chapters later and not suddenly Baron Sunkiller. The editors that do all three get like $500 per 10k words edited. Way out of my price range. Grammar editors are between$25 and $50 per 10k words. A lot of freelancers just use grammar software and never actually read the text which is causing me to pay them and then have to do an edit read myself. I have slight dyslexia if you didn't notice and read through a lot of errors. Right now, I need to get book 2 ready for publishing. The editors may get a few advanced chapters on book 4 to look at as we go but I still struggling with finishing this forced vacation.

I could do some editing on your stuff, I already do it for a friend who is an author, but I wouldn’t be comfortable taking cash as I make enough as is. Mostly what I could add would be suggestions on different word/dialogue choices “Wouldn’t this word/phrase fit better here?”, maybe some pacing/plot suggestions and some grammar corrections.

Alex Galaitsis

Also, my wife makes plenty of money. I’m less interested in earning money than I am in making your stories even more amazing.

Alex Galaitsis

Are you looking for someone who will give feedback on plot arcs and pacing, etc, or who will only comb over a chapter for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and at most some advice on phrasing or self-consistency? I could do the latter but wouldn’t feel comfortable with the former. I didn’t take English classes in college but I do have a law degree, which is focused on clear and concise written communication. Right now I’m a stay at home dad, so I have a lot of flexible time. I love your stories but I realize I may not be who you need. It’s an option if you’re interested.

Erick Thiemke

If you took a few English classes in college it might be enough. One of the editors I paid was a scam. She just ran it through a grammer editor and missed a shitload of mistakes anyway.

Alex Galaitsis

Aw. I’d offer but I’m not a professional, just a grammar Nazi who has read thousands of books.
