Erick Thiemke

the inference is the titans conquored Earth at one point and when the demons came, they retreaated to Desia

HappyNoms

I'm slightly confused. I understand the Roman/Greek humans who got portalled to this world as a group, importing into human culture and their eventual nation / the world's awareness, their architecture and cultural habits and pantheon of gods, but the history of the world is that the giants/titans predate the lesser races emerging as nations well after the giants ruinous civil war, so how the giants have decided to name their historical dwelling Olympus, and architect it in the Greek/roman architectural style, and name their leader Chronos seems, uh, accidentally inverted / blended. The simple fix of trying to correct by saying this world originated it all and some humans portalled to Earth and imported it to Earth that way runs up against some awkward historical Earth facts about the cultures that preceded the Romans and Greeks and no earth history of magic or other worlds. Kind of just going to let it go, but it's a bit wibbly wobbly on the timeline. Seemingly. I guess one could posit the pantheon gods are literally real, and in both worlds, independently establishing Greek/roman culture in parallel, though the earlier story didn't initially strike me as going for deities as actually real as background lore.

J. L. Mullins

What position were you aiming for? Nothing really felt forced to my eye?

Zaffre

Beat me to it, though no need for the fee fi for fum routine. I do think the caviler way he drops the bear meat out of character.

Jordan A

Random thought. Eric has (had) an interesting trading opportunity. He’s uniquely long-lived like the giants and he has a large space for carrying goods. He could do something like committing to trade items the giants would want intermittently (every 5 years or something like that) in exchange for useful artifacts, knowledge, magic tips, etc. I doubt this opportunity would come up much for the giants. If this arrangement happened I’m assuming it would be a private arrangement not mentioned in front of the orca.

Eriach

🤣

Eriach

I'd say let him kill the other clerics and firsts except the one with the bum leg

Eriach

🤣

Erick Thiemke

maybe - it would put his discovery on the giant - Fee Fi Fo Fun, I smell the blood of an American

hrs

you could ditch the bear meat and just have khrusos sniff him out when he walks over to grab the cauldron. seems like the woman could sense mynasha's being an outworlder

Salvo

You could callback to him giving the sack of apples for ginger, that he already was being spied on before when he crossed the gate. Maybe a rare affinity detector artifact is a part of it. In book one Reena has that tree that detects affinity over 15 and if there is a spell form, 4 rare spell forms has gotta be shocking.

Erick Thiemke

see above...the cauldron wasnt too much of a reveal but the meat was. maybe I will change my mind in how it is written after the net chapter is commented on

Erick Thiemke

no fighting a god

Erick Thiemke

yes - i am tying to get from plot point A to B and it is not smooth at the moment. the cauldron was not a reach as that would about 35 affinity in the space. the meat pile was probably over a three foot foot cube - so larger again....50s in space. but the purpose is for the coming dialogue betwen Khrusos and Eryk. Yes, not a pretty way to get there

Roxanne

Maybe another chapter edit. But then again I do not have the creative ability of our author.

Deliver roo

I guess he felt like he could not take his leave without an artifact, which would have been fine if not for the fact that it is not very well explained why he risks his life for Mynasha. But, while I understand revealing the cauldron, the reveal of the bear meat is kinda stupid.

Lemes

In this chapter Erick was very out of character. For much of the story he tried to hide his secrets about his dimensional space, then out of nowhere he starts taking all sorts of things out of his dimensional space in front of potential enemies. Was there some factor that made him suicidal that I didn't see? I don't mind the MC being cornered sometimes and thus forced to reveal some cards, but it was kind of artificial and out of character in these last chapters.

BLead Irish ambassador

I was thinking some of the original ‘Romans’ had high affinity in worlds and travelled back home. But could be.

BLead Irish ambassador

Love the story. This is, I think, the first time I really hope AlwaysRolls doesn’t have Eryk fight his way out. Even though the other powerful orcs are there I just think it is the wrong way to go. It is okay to have Eryk ‘lose’ to someone. Especially a storm giant.

Roxanne

Not sure if I feel Eryk would have revealed how large his storage space was in front of the warlords. He had been very careful not to. Also they had been told they could leave. They weren't threatened. Just seemed out of character to me, maybe forced.

Mubarak Sulaiman

This might just be me, but it feels out of character for Eryk. All good and fine if this event teaches him to be more ruthless because he should’ve taken his leave. I mean no amount of artifacts could warrant revealing his secrets (dimensional space) to people he thought were titans from Greek mythology of all things.

BubblyGhost

Remember, every race has different breakpoints for stats. 100 Str for a giant isn't the same 100 Str for a human

Salvo

Any thoughts on spell forms we are seeing with the giants? Long range scrying, then an out-world detection (which may just be a time alive sense). Gravity spell which I don’t know if that’s earth or maybe an abyssal type. I wonder if :slow aging: would protect Eryk from decay spells like :age target:. They also weren’t worried about poison.

Lemes

Lately Erick seems to have become careless and kind of idiotic. Quite the opposite of what he had been until recently.

saber

I feel like Eryk should be a bit more angry at being found out. He already seems to be very paranoid at having pepole know who he is. It's okay to have the Mc do something rash every once in a while!

Samuel McCarren

Kronos seems like the best lead so far on world affinity spell forms 🤔

BubblyGhost

Hope you feel better, excited for more Soldier/World

Jordan A

For the start of the next chapter I wonder if Eryk will say ‘no’ and say he’s leaving just like they said he could. Use any sense of honor the giants have against them. Might not be a winning strategy, but it’s dependent on what the author wants the nature of the Giants to be.

hrs

"Lets see what else you are carrying around unseen". Next chapter is Krosus shaking Eryk upside down "damn human he is mostly food and socks". It is also a good thing Eryk got rid of the desk, it would be awkward having to explain how he uses his uniquely strong power as a junk room.

Silver Beard

Eryk's stats are huge, Boldo is still a 'youngster' if he's subjected to the gravity Eryk is experiencing... he'll get squashed like a bug. That needs to be avoided at all costs.

Salvo

Glad for that guess to be confirmed. I’d really like to know what the orc world she comes from differs. Baldo is totally gonna panic, warping to a different place away from Raelia; totally bad parenting Eryk!

Silver Beard

Losing Boldo will be VERY bad.

Silver Beard

Interesting that Mynasha is also an outworlder...supposedly. Wonder what's going through her mind right now? Seems like Eryk is well and truly screwed. Poor Boldo... if he's brought out he'll be killed instantly.

Alias

Wow. What a chapter!

John Donovan

My biggest worry is the same with all op abilities. Does the author stop trying to tell a story by use of some plot armor because it's just easier. This could be a teaching moment for Eryk left to the mercy of the giants.

Chachi

didnt konstantin tell him not to reveal too much big mistake imo and im sure eryk could secure zorana another way thru bloodshed ofc

Andrew

Thank you!

PatronTurtle

How expensive will that mistake be? Honestly, as long as Eryk is able to keep a weapon and the essense extractor then he can keep his growth curve, but that's probably the thing Khronus would want

PatronTurtle

There are probably artifacts that prevent traveling between worlds. The implications that I'm reading from it, is that the Titans lost to the Gods (et Greek/Roman myth) and the Titans have been banished here

Thomas Shaw

What is she talking about with the dungeon artifacts?

Erick Thiemke

Writing now, I hope so. Takes 4-6 hours per chapter

Cloudly lofi

Most likely

ABU-UBAYYAH SALLAU ABA-HURAYRATA

Is book 311 coming tonight ?

PatronTurtle

Interesting. Is Earth primary planet and Khronus was banished here?

Justin Barnett

Oh snap.

KipBR

Oh boy things are heating up.

Cloudly lofi

Thanks
