Good start

Erick Thiemke

not sure I got many of these on my read edit

Adam V

Nice start of the book, excited for the hunt!

Aspiring Sage

Yes. This! Would love to see real Konstantin meet amulet Konstantine and get beat because of the amulet updates lol

Kudugu

Yeah, it's really frustrating to witness the development of a hero, doing the hero's journey, being flawed, yet having honorable principles and ideals that he holds higher than material possessions, which he can either easily get or whose loss do not hinder his already ridiculously fast development much. A true shame that this "doormat" of an MC isn't doing the hack-and-slay, f*ck-friendship, who-cares-about-values, all-for-me-and-me-only shtick.

Lindasm

toward the woodland were the pixies…. Perhaps toward the woodlands where the pixies…..

Erick Thiemke

thank - corrected on teh master

Angus

Shouldn’t it be Durandus collector?

Mercutio Montano

Hmm. Is Castile's death the catalyst that will push Eryk back to the Empire for vengeance or with she handle her own problems and deal with dear old murderous Firth? (Spelling)

Ben

Eryk the doormat is back! Doing risky quests and giving away all his loot without a care to get stronger himself.

Stamatopoulos George

Honestly I the raelia and eryk ship is way too good please let it be author

Andrew Crews

Raelia [faked] to the right, kicking off a jutting rock to reverse her direction on the soft ground. I shifted my feet to [intercept] the broadsword. My opposite arm sported a buckler, and I was tracking her trailing arm with my eyes [as she wielded] her legacy blade. Her muscles flexed, and I was ready to block, parry, and counter. Raelia overextended, and since I had the longer reach in this fight[,] it was over. There was a violent clash, and I smirked as I was in a great position to smash the buckler into her face and still bring the [broadsword] around to behead her while she was stunned. Then she suddenly accelerated past my guard, and her legacy blade passed through my buckler and up into my sternum [and] my heart. “You cheated again,” I said, spitting blood and collapsing to the ground. My dreamscape body reappeared in the entry room a moment later. I sighed as I walked back to the ankheg room. Raelia was grinning madly, her bloody arm already healed. Baldo looked up from the floor expectantly, his broken wing completely healed from being slammed to the ground by the [Titan]. I tossed him a steak before [Raelia] emerged, and he wolfed it down noisily. I put on a shirt and walked onto the deck. Goliaths were helping a dozen elves load supplies onto the Wind Chaser. The Wind Chaser was a trade galleon from the elven nation of Galanoris. They were a seafaring nation located on a long archipelago almost on the other side of the world. Konstantin had met the merchant captain as they docked[,] before unloading their trade goods and purchasing a full cargo to return home. They had good weather mages and a robust elven crew. But more importantly, they had enough space for all the goliaths. Charting an entire ship for a two-month voyage was expensive. Additionally, I needed to keep seventy-one goliaths fed. Six of the goliaths were not traveling with us: three were staying in the Caliphate, and I paid for the passage of the other three on different ships. The provisions and water barrels they were loading now had cost me eleven gold. I strongly suspected it was enough to feed the sailors [as well as] the goliaths. Maveith was below deck with Myra somewhere. It was strange to think of my friend being intimate with someone, even if it was another goliath. Myra had been captured with Zorana, Maveith’s sister, by orc pirates. The pirates had transported the goliaths to the Caliphate to sell [to] warlords. Although the Caliphate professed no ties to the pirate island port cities, I had strong doubts[,] as the Boutan Caliphate was the only orc nation on Desia. Konstantin came up the gangplank, and I searched for Gilda. There[,] she was still on the docks, observing from an archway. She was always watching. Konstantin got my attention, “I think we are being allowed to sail,” he said in some disbelief. He assumed the Supreme would betray me and not let the goliaths leave. I was a bit disappointed I hadn’t received any messages from Mynasha, Glasha, or Tarnasha since the goliaths were dropped in my lap seven days ago. “You are not strong enough to wield it one-handed, Eryk. You need to strengthen your wrist and arm,” he repeated for the seventh or eighth time. I had been doing the exercises he suggested[, but] it was just going to take time—or a few dozen strength essences. At least our practice was good entertainment for the goliaths. The next morning, we cast lines and broke out of the bay. The Wind Chaser had five elven weather mages on board, two of whom were the captain and first mate. It almost made their exorbitant fee worth it. We only sailed a few hours up the coast before the captain made anchor. I was rowed ashore and started walking toward the woodlands [where] the pixies were from. They would only wait [at most] two days for me. It was about fifteen miles inland to the edge of the forest, and I had [no] aspirations about entering. When I was a few miles from the beach, Ginger appeared next to me. Once I calmed her, I swung into the saddle and let her run us the rest of the way. It wasn’t long before the dark forest stretched before us. I walked Ginger within a hundred yards and paused. I already felt like I was being watched. One pixie after another appeared in front of me. All of them mutilated[,] with missing wings. I didn’t know if they grew back or if pixies had magic to regenerate them, but I had done my [conscience] good. I managed to get back to the beach before sunset, Ginger safely in my space. I had slow-walked her and fed her before storing her, but she was going to need more rest after that hard ride. Captain Taegen looked surprised I was back so soon[,] but was eager to pull anchor. We had at least sixty days at sea ahead of us. Days later, I was eating with Konstantin, Raelia, Maveith, Zorana, and Myra. The PDAs that Maveith and Myra [displayed] were awkward at the table. At least Raelia saved hers for when we were alone. “Where is Gilda?” I asked, cutting a peppered steak. Baldo was sitting[,] waiting patiently for a piece, but I needed to make sure Raelia wasn’t looking[,] otherwise, the game wasn’t fun. Maveith’s deep voice echoed, “It is a dangerous occupation, but if that is what you are planning, I will join you.” Myra grabbed his arm worriedly, and Zorana just looked shocked at my announcement. Maveith said thoughtfully, “If you wear your cloak and pouch openly, you might be able to recruit some strong goliath hunters to join us.” Konstantin figured it out quickly. “For Castile?” I nodded while chewing. He seemed to consider [it.] “I’ll help.” Maveith’s voice interceded, “Typically, a goliath hunting party has seven or more members, Eryk. Although manticores are solitary beasts outside of the breeding season, this is not always the case, as you know. The more hunters we have, the safer it will be.” “Count Baldo and [me] in,” Raelia said, and when she turned to face Konstantin for his reaction, I snuck Baldo a chunk of steak. Instead of his normal loud chewing and savoring, he swallowed it immediately. He knew if Raelia spotted the feeding, he would be told to lie down in his nest of blankets on the other side of the cabin. Raelia’s head snapped to Baldo, but he was already still, and his eyes [were] still pleading for table scraps.

abdellah Jamad

I think its time for Konstantin to use the dreamscape and level up his game as well.

Silver Beard

It would be nice to see Boldo a bit more affectionate toward Eryk without a bribe. Thanks for sharing during the Holiday's. Imagine Raelia is injured in combat and is unconscious; someone will still need to manage Boldo. Eryk is the obvious go to; but will Boldo listen/obey?

Jordan A

I had a similar thought. Ball sack bags for the win!

Eriach

That'd be badass. Upgrade strength and his air skill and he'll be whipping those blades around like toys

Eriach

Think of all the essences he'll get! And the ballsack bags Maveith can make!

Eriach

Mostly grammatical, but BubblyGhost is correct in that there are some plot fixes or swith ups that happen to clean up both plot and characterization

Salvo

Maveith and Myra too! We weren’t even sure she was alive til this book.

Salvo

I do like the chapter was going full stride to sailing for Stone Mountain, I even commented on the personal growth of the character. Book 1 had the dream necklace, just commenting a dungeon artifact walked out of his fingers. Selling for Goliath chow is fine.

Erick Thiemke

last chapter of book 5...some crying and hugging

Erick Thiemke

corrected on master

Erick Thiemke

yes, konstantin just confirmed it - maybe he was making sure it was Sebastians collector and Eryk didnt find another

Erick Thiemke

always about the loot

Erick Thiemke

well it was just gold plated

Aiden Wilker

Happy to see Raelia and Eryk together

Scientist Valci

The best arc in Soldier's life is in my opinion the elven dungeon exploration. So much tension and action and his op powers shinning. Still bothers me he didn't go into the black room and didn't try to steal the gold enchanted statue. Also the bonding with maveith as well as so many power ups.

Salvo

Orcs aren’t honorable enough to say what the demon bowl does, I guess. Raelia entering Eryk’s dreamscape is pretty serious. Most of his own people never got to use it. It feels like a comment on him being done hiding his abilities.

BubblyGhost

Apparently it's grammar edits but also characterization and plot cleanup. Evidently MC was a bit too much of an asshole first iteration

Lazarius

Thanks for the chapter ! Chapter 318 : « when they outright called me a liar about the demon dungeon, I gave each of them one quickness essence to consume as proof. » This chapter : « “So, you still have Sebastian’s collector?” Konstantin confirmed. When I nodded, Konstantin fought off smiling »

Chachi

ngl its going to be kino when eryk masters that broadsword i have hopes he dual wield with magebane too

Damien P

Is there a big difference if you compare the two? As in, old chapters and newly edited ones for World Sphere? Or is it just grammatically and nothing else added. I'll happily read again regardless. ☺️

Damien P

Yessss!!!!! Gotta help Castile before the Hounds get to her!

Shane clark

The pirates had transported the goliaths to the Caliphate to sell them warlords. To warlords.

Shane clark

I’m excited for some hunting with the collector.

John Donovan

Did I miss a edit with the Goliath reunion?

Andrew

Thank you!

David Weller

Awesome! Thanks a bunch!

Gwalmeich

I would find it funny for Eric to harvest enough aether shaping essence and be unironycally told that he is a wizard in a shameless Harry Potter reference. I can easily imagine Eric trying not to start laughing after being told that.

Jordan A

Thanks for the chapter!

rizen

Thanks for the chapter. Eryk really is loyal to castille. I hope he gets another dungeon crawl or discovers that the manticores are escaping from a dungeon break or something so he can relish aether infused food supplies haha.

Erick Thiemke

last chapter of the cycle. Im taking tomorrow off but I might edit a chapter or two of World Sphere. Next chapter for Soldier will be Wednesday.
