An idea could be that Eric’s nephew and his wife plus the shot gun baby end up being transported to his New World on the five year anniversary of his disappearance as they went to visit the spot where his car was last seen for remembrance. Their Affinities in the rare category could 25 and below. For his nephew he could have a high holy affinity, for the shot gun bride she could have high affinity in nature, and for the child’s high affinity could be whatever is needed for a high level beast tamer. Will be good motivation to get his family home.

I feel like the magical aptitude goes against the initial premise of the MC not having magical aptitude because he came from a magic void world, and his elemental affinities were gained through travel.

And and and, make her have additional big attribute and that she hides necromancy from everyone and does good job of it. Make her master manipulator and major villaines who seems nice for a lot of chapters but turns out is human trash!!!!

I choose the little girl with necromancy talent because this might become a big plot point for protagonist. As we know necromancer is pretty much shunned everywhere, so the MC will need to overcome moral dilemma...like earlier in the chapter he has no qualm about killing the young orc...but, will he be able to do the same with the little girl since they are from the same world?

I went with Teresa. If she has strong Aether shaping then maybe a STEM angle with her college background might help her with healing or some sort of physical affect of aether on the natural world - be it illusion or whatever. Plus, Teresa is older and though she is engaged, it might make for some fun banter with Raelia and maybe quick friends. Eryk's already rescued kids and I think you said this was gonna last a couple books and I can easily see it having a Last of Us kinda vibe for the overarching theme of returning home if it's a kid. Another avenue of thought is how Teresa Cortes is a Spanish name, which could provide another scene or two with Castile considering her heritage.

Think you're right on that front, I'd prefer if it's not Teresa, would end up in romance once more, and I see it more likely the protagonist tries to get the child or mother back.

I think it would be funny if the character is pulled from somewhere awkward or sad, like on the toilet, in a birthday party, out skiing, while sky diving, on a holiday undergoing a break up, in the military (or combat) or while fishing in a rowboat.

Did the author take my last comment seriously? 🗿😂 Well, of these options the best are the 2 girls who are 10 years old, unfortunately I don't really like the idea of negromancy (the probable winning option 🥲), it would have been better another great affinity, in any case I hope it develops well.(Ps: you can't get both girls ? 😭)

I went with Lexi. I like the idea of our protagonist having to protect a kid, so I was between Evie and Lexi but we've already done the "kid with necromancy" thing earlier on the way up to the orcs. I don't particularly think it needs to be rehashed. Also illusion could potentially offer her the ability to hide during combat and be less of a liability.

So I think for the author to really try to write believe able interactions with a 10 year old girl would push them. Also necromancy for a 4th grader? Probably more intense than Halloween horror nights

I like the Lawyer viewpoint idea, I always enjoy the average person story making their way through a world superhumans. They could have been a Japanese international lawyer traveling for business with a background in competitive Kendo. They end up defending the group while everyone gets their where about, Kendo people can do a lot of damage with little more then a stick!

They would be the driving force behind the MCs' actions for books 7, 8, and 9. Whether they travel with the MC, will depend on how they develop and who is chosen. For instance, it would be hard to justify taking a 10-year-old into the Shimmering Labyrinth
