TYFTC! Love all of the lore dropping mixed in with baking, I mean I think everyone should be a part of Cale's baking classes if something like this is a regular occurrence! Now, will the Verdant Flame bring back Vital, or imbue Damien with Vital's power, potentially turning Damien into the new Monolith of Life, or something similar? Can't wait to see what happens herer!

Hey don't disregard that idea so easily! This way you giving the other Monoliths the glory of being able to cast the 20th tier spell without his help! And that be kinda boring as well...

(The singular is 'a millenium' (of war))

Sisyphus said that Cale casually admitted to killing a Monolith but he didn't did he?

Art Dragon

Cake is for sure a Monolith of some kind of not something equal in power. Maybe that’s why Sternkessel can hear him when he talks about humans because he’s a being of pure magic? Idk if he’s specifically the monolith of magic but it sure does line up.

I enjoyed the namedropping, but it's a real shame Leo is not here. He is the only one who would look them up.

Learning more about things from the past, especially Cale's past. Learning about Vital, the Verdant Flame, the chance to restore Vital, the true impact of the war on the multiverse and magic itself. Learning about the Source. It does beg the question, while Cale does have a True Prismatic Core, and is chummy with the Monoliths, a 20th tier grand ritual to prune the source, well, it does beg the question of what role Cale played in that ritual. I doubt it was just as a mana battery.

Oh man, bloodrot isn’t even a spell, it’s an entire *aspect*. And apparently it was a comparatively benign one compared to what came after. I suddenly don’t know how much more I want to learn about the Planar War… Also, a small correction: it’s either “a millennium of war”, or (multiple) “millennia of war” - one or the other, but “a millennia of war” reads a bit weirdly. Anyway, thanks for the chapter!

Ofcourse stars would think wishes are fire god dammit xp

More evidence for the theory that Cale is the Monolith of Magic. Magic represents all possibilities and Cale has a true prismatic core. Magic was corrupted with violence and Cale was very angry and destructive during the war. Then a huge part of magic got erased, and here Cale is unable to cast spells. Monolith are supposed to be obsessed with their aspect and Cale seems obsessed with magic and mages (and magical baking).

It could have been the Pepsi Cool Zone 😎

Pinpenny the great lithian

If only Cale convinced leviathan to make the abyss taste like sprite. I'm sure that would have lasted a lot longer.
