Silver Linings

Interesting observation! Cale does make a note that the Lower Branches were responsible for helping new branches get established and that they learned any new magics developed in those branches in return, which is similar.

Jason Gross

Damien's theory that Cale's rebirth cycle serves to redistribute magic across the realms makes sense to me in the current setup, but wasn't the world tree serving that role previously?

Silver Linings

Yeah, this was something I had a bit of a concern about. I think I can bring it back because of what this arc is about, but we'll see! Hoping to pull off something similar to what stories like Super Supportive and The Wandering Inn have been able to do.

Silver Linings

Can I quote this comment when the chapter goes live it's so good

Youkai-sama

So the Red Commander is the Monolith of Magic Corruption? *pft* Time to finish the job, Cale.

BrilliantDawn

Cale was stuck in the torment nexus and set to spin cycle

TYFTC! Wow, so many things here! I do wonder what created the initial corruption, and how much is it tied to the black scales and destruction of the dragons? I do feel horrible for Cale, and it shows how much trauma he has, I do hope that the kiddos will be able to help him heal somewhat, and truly realize that he is not alone.

Questions/Theories. If Cale’s core is true prismatic, which contains equal parts of every aspect, even without his input; Cale’s core changing when Damien awoke the verdant flame. Then wouldn’t he be some part of those corrupted aspects? If having a prismatic core is intrinsically linked to the source, I’d believe through Cale is how they managed to seal away those aspects. - What do you mean the abyss didn’t exist??? What are the outer realms then? Was the leviathan able to travel realms back then? The abyss seems important to her dominance in the current cosmology.

I have a lot to say about this chapter.

Lurker

Damn talk about PTSD

Art Dragon

I agree with everyone here. There’s something pulling the strings behind the scenes. Something that wants the worlds extinguished. I wonder if there’s such a thing as an anti-monolith. Or maybe an anti- Yggdrasil. It’d be interesting if there was basically an Anti- Cale trying to bring all realms to ruin.

CherMi

The lore is very nice, but I think the academy arc basically ended after two and a half days. I don't see how I'd read calm classes after all that.

BeanerOO

Aaahhhh loooorreeeeee haha Thank you for the meal! I do feel like I have more questions than answers right now, though. What of the source and the corruption? What happened there hasn't been discussed yet and that question burns in my mind. It feels somehow related to the fresh mystery of what the hell happened to the people of the lower realms?

Moon Winchester

Dark lords from the sounds of our supernatural existence. They Are a natural phenomena to all realms, indeed to spawn. The balancing force of this is that to every dark lord there is a hero. My theory is that this balance also extends to kale. If kale is the regulator of existence, slowly elevating every realm to be equalized or at least theorized by Damien. Then I believe an unbalancing force exist with the goal of the destruction of all realms or something equally sinister. But I believe the difference here is that no one ever thought to go looking and if they did no one ever found it. I believe the main antagonist of this series is either going to be that very being who may or may not be the red hunters Commander. But I don’t think so. I think the corrupted sources personification is the main antagonist. I believe that it is possibly multiple beings. I believe it is the red commander, I believe it is the being hunting dragons, I believe it is the corpse of Yggdrasil, I also believe that there is an abyssal out there, possibly containing its aspects. This is my theory, which is either extremely incorrect, extremely, correct, or some muddy water
