I needed this satisfaction

Drakenclaw

in every nearly disaster and atrocity he'd encountered. -> in every nearby disaster

TYFTC! Oooh, we are seeing a different one of Cale's Aspects (yes, intentional capital A there whether he realizes it or not...). This one is terrifying, and even more so knowing that he can cast spells with the Gift being able to power scale things. This is definitely going to be interesting.

Excellent chapter. Really loving it all. I know you said you were concerned about some of the gore involved in this chapter, but I'm not at all. If anything, I think the build-up you've done has made it deeply deserved and thus, hopefully, more acceptable to more squeamish readers. Personally, I'm a big fan of just deserts. Again thoughts on the person Cale WANTS to be and his masks. Perhaps some parallel with the Named and their struggle with their own identities but Cale can, to some extent choose. Is it a direct parallel with magical mechanics or a metaphorical parallel in the story? Very interested

Reading the first bit about the masks, it suddenly occurs to me that there is a bit of a parallel here between his "masks" and the way he becomes them when he "puts them on"... like the Named... I have thoughts...

So I’m not familiar with any of your works Silver, but I absolutely adore this story. I love the world building (universe building?) I love how details get revealed in sections and the reconstructed as more pieces come to light. I love all of the character’s personalities and their relationships with each other, it’s just so special. I love all the mysteries of this universe and how Cale fits into it. I love the lightheartedness and how much contrast it brings when things get serious. I love Cale’s Caleness Shenaniganery. It’s so hard to balance all these things and I think you’ve been nailing it. The stories that come to mind that somehow manage to get something similar is The Adventure Zone Balance and The Wandering Inn, two of my favorite stories of all time. I’m an artist (illustrator specifically) and I know how to take criticism from people. And it can be harsh, but if there’s nothing constructive in their comments then they are just being an asshole and bully trying to make themselves feel bigger by putting down others. A good critique points out the good not just the bad and the why of both. And yes I would say that to any professional too, but I highly doubt a professional would be commenting on an author’s Patreon. So, keep your negative comments to yourself the real world has more than enough of that thank you. Silver, keep on going you’re doing great, I can’t wait for the rest of this beatdown. Take care of yourself (burnout’s a bitch) and have a happy new year! See you in the next one. TLDR; Negative Nancy needs to keep their comments to themselves, sincerely a fellow artist.

Part of me wants Cale to finish off the Red Commander with a level 20 Baking Spell, but I don't think he's got any Spells able to evolve that way. Also, it might be a little too silly; though, the image of Cale wielding a Baguette of Smite as he smashes the Red Commander to paste does bring a smile to my face.

A beat down of the century, given to just one man, love it. Also, if that indictment attempts to steal one of Cale's intrinsic things (like mana) im betting it will just explode

You've been doing some really impressive world building here! I think I like this side of Cale less, but I suspect that's the vibe you intended. You've been threading a really tiny needle making an interesting protagonist who's this powerful without making them too obviously slapstick or naive, and this opens a really interesting chapter. Naming the mindsets is also a really nice touch. Keep it up, we're all loving the story!
