Thanks for the chapter :)

Robert Blaise

This is just not true. I personally know a number of big-name authors, and there is not one among them that earns more on Patreon than Amazon. There are of course people who do, but they're not the rule, they're the exception.

Tryptic

Not every story is easy to write fanfiction for, and not everyone wants to be a career author. But when I hear people stressing about their book releases I want to encourage them: book releases aren't where the money is at, even for bigger authors. It's on Patreon.

Tryptic

I've read quite a lot of stories on Reddit and RR, and I've proofread for a few. One of the successful writers shared his financials a bit so I could get a better look. Amazon book sales were never a good portion of his income: they were just something nice to give the fans something they could own. His real income was always from Patreon, and his community grew by having a Discord server and Subreddit where other people wrote fanfiction in his universe.

No No

Keep it up big man

Robert Blaise

Yeah summaries are a pain in the ass. They're super hard to judge from your own POV too

Marquess

Good luck with that; making a good summary is harder than I thought. I tried writing a few, and they were all either too bland or felt too fanfic-esque.

Robert Blaise

As for an audiobook, one will be out on the same day as the ebook!

Robert Blaise

Don't worry about the page count, I do not want to restrict myself either. LitRPG/Progression Fantasy thrives on huge word counts and a liberal word budget, while trad fantasy is usually written around the restrictions of it's primary medium (physical copy)

Caliban42

Pre-ordered from day one, would an audiobook be something for the future? Also another thing, I don’t see you milking the plot. The serial nature of 1% lifesteal is great as it doesn’t limit you to get everything done in a certain page count, I also really look forward to seeing a new chapter regularly in my inbox instead of waiting years between books. Just keep doing what your doing and don’t feel you have to self edit due to page count

Robert Blaise

As for the synopsis, I'm still trying to work out whether a different one would do better, but I'm not entirely sure which direction to take it in. I'll see, I guess

Robert Blaise

Indeed, the oooks hasn't released yet, so it can't be reviewed.

thaughton2

I always regretted not preordering Jester, so I made sure to do so this time. Good luck on the sales, Mr. Blaise.

Marquess

I'm looking forward to many years of 1% Lifesteal, too :) The summary on Amazon feels... dull, especially compared to the story itself, but I'll leave a review when it becomes available (it currently shows "This item is not eligible to be reviewed.")

Emerson Fortier

Update us when it's out so I can review it. Been here since Jester. Love how nutty your characters can be. Looking forward to more.

Robert Blaise

It's such a joy to write. And honestly, I'm REALLY itching to get started on some things. But 1 word at a time. All good payoffs take good setups.

Beeees!

🍻 to many more years of crazy stories mate, love your writing. And while I liked your last series, 1% lifesteal has been such a blast and there truly is so much left to explore that I'm so excited about
