We got our old family cat in a unusual way. Our basset hound came in looking very proud and something was clearly in his mouth, so mom tells him “drop it.” Out came a drool soaked and hissing kitten. Soon as he got his bearings, he evaded everyone and holed up behind the washer/dryer stack, and that’s where he stayed for about a month. After that, and mom feeding him, he had zero interest ever going outside again. His only problem was he was a terror during christmas. Stockings and tree ornaments were not safe and you, at some point, would be ambushed by him launching himself from the tree. Never turn your back to the tree or you would soon feel claws in your shoulder.
