Is... Is that the etymology? Holy shit.

Cool to see Vinny get a grip on Total War. The Total Warhammer series is different than much of the other series with some of the power of the abilities and heroes, as well as generally a more "blob on blob" style of combat instead of "formation on formation". But the battles are fun, all the races are really different, and as a long time series fan, the way the strategy layers play differently is probably the coolest part of the game overall. I also highly recommend Total War Three Kingdoms for a more traditional TW experience that also has a ton of cool design and dynamism, and more going on with diplomacy.

Just had a phoenix down moment when Vinny called out the “archers” shooting arrows in an arch. Loving this content. I don’t have video tier access for Fire escape so still getting my feet under me for what Mike is sharing in this series. So happy they are doing these playthroughs. I’ve always been curious about this series after all Mike’s enthusiasm.

Excited to keep watching these! I really enjoyed this first one. It's a good reminder for me to get back to these games one day.

I'm sorry but this is one of the best games ever. Each race feels and plays so different. It's incredible. There's no game that has this amount of depth and strategy. So happy you guys are playing this. When you are battling is it possible to zoom in once in a while on the units fighting? It will be more visually interesting to watch. Also, since the evil campaign is on Nextlander, does that mean Nextlander is evil and Fire Escape is good?

FYI, you have units set to "hold position" as default, it's the shield icon on the bottom when a unit is selected. In this mode, the unit will not pursue when their target is retreating. So they end up being idle a lot of the time. This is especially dangerous when you have melee units attacking ranged units. The ranged unit will retreat, your unit will stay put, and the ranged unit will stop retreating and start shooting your melee unit which will just stand there getting killed. You can toggle hold position as a default in the game options, which is probably recommended for a very offensive faction like Khorne. The downside of turning hold position off, is that sometimes units will keep chasing faster or fleeing units right till the end of the map, but as long as you keep an eye on your minimap, that shouldn't be a problem. This is my favourite game franchise, so I'm excited for this to become a long running show!
