Anxiety is definitely handled by this system. Some people with anxiety are even prescribed medications called beta-blockers that act against the sympathetic nervous system responses induced by anxiety.

I just started taking medication for anxiety and it has helped me a lot in being able to function more normally in my day to day life. Is anxiety affected by this system and process, or is that done differently in the body?
