Forgotten Web Gear: Johnson LMG Magazine Backpack (Ad-free)
🕑 Added 2022-10-24 13:00:10 +0000 UTCWhile the Johnson LMG was issued in limited quantities throughout World War Two, notably to Marine Raiders, Paramarines, and the 1st Special Service Force, the US never issued web gear made for its uniquely-sized magazines. However, a small number of 12-magazine backpacks for the Johnson did find their way into US service, probably originally made for the Dutch East Indies Army.

I believe one reason that so few of these survived is because unlike nearly every other army backpack, pouch, etc, it has absolutely no civilian application or other military repurpose. I sold one of these two years ago to a collector in Montana. maybe this actual one.

I assume a johnson mag ain't come cheap these days. those twelve mags alone must be worth a nice pile of cash. using that... I don't know. not the fastest grab a mag ever but as some were suppose to jump with gear that would be pretty secured.
