Honestly, I would spend a couple hundred dollars to review these parts and decide if I wanted to really try and assemble a complete rifle. $900.00? No way.

Alexander Thomas

Very cool. The Gendarmerie, or Rijkswacht as it was called in Dutch, has been disbanded and absorbed into the general police in 2001. I think I have seen them with those FALs when they were still active.

I have a mid 1960's Herstal manufactured FN, sent to South Africa, then to me. One of the finest shooting rifles I own.

Guido Schriewer

next to bundeswehr short lived G1 "border police" bundesgrenzschutz had fal. wonder what happend to those as those guys changed to country, but statewide, airport, train stations, something police rather from paramil/police origins. had sig p210s, too. noone else did. I always loooved the fal flavor.

Steven Vanosdall

I registered for the kit, and I think that it's a cool partnership between you and FN on this and it's mutually beneficial.

Last parts kit I bought was a G1 kit for $99 (i'm old) excited to see these I do not see them on the website yet.

EyeBall

Interesting development. While I am incredibly unlucky with random lotteries,, this is the best choice, considering the rarity of the kits. Looking forward to seeing some top notch builds by the lucky 400.

Hypnotoad

Hopefully atf doesn't change their minds on parts kits again with these

Sonny Hughes

That would be a great build. I did a couple of FALs a few years back using some kits that Sarco had collected. Made a really nice gun. Always wanted to build up an Israeli HB example but didn't want to sacrifice a "good" parts kit for that. Maybe one day...

So FN Herstal just found 400 ex-Belgian Gendarmerie FN FALs in one of their warehouses where they've been stored for the last 30 years. And cut them up and sold the parts kits to the colonials...... you lucky sods......

This is awesome!
