The Elbonians are fighting a defensive war in 1944. Not unlike the Ukraine we see today. You as minister of procurement, have treasonous thoughts. They task you with seeking a non-domestic tank to "update" the horse calvary with mechanization. What tank or similarl heavily armored vehicle do you choose?
Why were so many military weapons of the 19th and early 20th century supplied completely, or partially un-blued "in the white"? Was it just cost? Many had blued barrels or other parts, but in the white actions, or other combinations. Time may have been a factor, but then a gun like the 1909 Argentine Mauser was probably not built under tight time restraints, but has an in the white action.
Any interest in a video featuring/shooting a Bushmaster Arm Pistol by Gwinn Firearms (predecessor to Bushmaster)? You're welcome to borrow mine. I bought it in a moment of significant insobriety because its story was cool but with further research I have only found the same article copied/pasted on different websites. How are firearms with fixed sights zeroed? Do they adjust them in the factory or just hope they got it right?

With the US Army apparently going ahead with the adoption of the 6.8x51mm cartridge, how do you see that impacting on other NATO military branches? I'm thinking particularly of the US Marines and the French and German armies, all adopting new 5.56mm weapons based on the HK416 in recent years, only for the US Army to adopt another non-NATO standard calibre.
