Gothic Serpent: Shughart M14 Clone & Delta 1911 at the 2-Gun Match (Ad-free)
🕑 Added 2024-09-27 12:00:06 +0000 UTCToday I decided to do a Gothic Serpent memorial 2-gun match, using my Shughart M14 clone and a surplussed Delta 1911. This was a 5-stage match at the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club, and it was a complete dumpster fire for me. I don't know what changed, but the reliable-in-testing M1A became a complete malfunction machine on the clock. I had trouble with the 1911 as well, also for the first time. Together, this landed me in dead last place...but at least I looked good doing it, I suppose?

Consider shipping the rifle to Tony Ben, M14 guru level armorer, for a diagnostic run through it. Assuming he has time for it of course, the gentleman is in pretty high demand.

You have installed the M1907 sling upside down and backwards. Could this be the mysterious reason for your unusual number of malfunctions? Without physical examination we can only guess but possibly chamber issues- dirty, tight, etc. Or a weak op rod spring.

Thank you for showcasing an awesome "looking" setup. It is regrettable that it ran poorly when time was on the line. Gun gremlins are possibly the only thing worse than electrical gremlins. The poptart made me smile and a bit melancholy given the situation. Peaceful Skies

oh I can. my 1st handgun was a total lemon shot whole matches like that. ammo? extractor? springs? hey come one. day can't be that bad when having a pop tart left (what's twinkies for mississippi in zombiland are pop tarts to me!)

because zero on a range isn't competing! gremlins get active after that beep ONLY. so mals all over the list not even something to point a finger to. great. too bad with such a cool build. cool webgear, too. good old LC-2 stuff!

I commented on youtube but reminds me of issue I had with thumb safety tube coming loose. Im also on weapon & war but dont see a way to comment at least on the roku app.

From my experience with my rifle. Your problem is likely magazine related. Either spring issue or follower issue.
