I'm sure you've heard the one about how targeting an enemy soldier with a .50 BMG is a war crime, but targeting his belt buckle is okay because it's "materiel"? Yeah, it's totally false, but boy does that story get around...

In 1969 at Ft Benning when familiarized on the MaDuce the TO said that it violated The Hague Convention to use it as a sniper weapon firing with the mode switch in single shot mode. I recall the ladder sight was calibrated out to 2500 yards. It don’t think std. ammo would be accurate to be the 1/25 minute of man required to complete the task.
