I think the best possible Chauchat accessory might be a couple of M-Lok hardpoints that would allow you to attach a BREN or FN Model D to one. XD

There's nothing wrong w/ the Chauchat that couldn't be fixed by (properly!) chambering it in a less ludicrous cartridge than the Balle D, making it short-recoil operated and improving the quality control But it was "good enough" and available in quantity when that was all that really mattered to the French. Too bad Gladiator let the U.S. down w/ the conversion to .30-'06, but hey, that should never have been undertaken anyway when the BAR was the better solution all along...

I'm surprised you didn't talk about how that stock choice would both put the barrel inline with the shoulder AND get rid of the recoil spring cap beating your face up!
