Give it a try! Play it to the Max Level, but dont rush it, enjoy the great story and the different characters, it gets soooo much better, like Ami has tell you :)

Yea thats what I'm being told many times already, how it drastically gets better the further you get. I'm at lvl26 currently and just chilling

Not sure how far you're aleady but as 16 years long WoW player I recommend not giving up before Heavensward. I tried FF14 multiple times and always gave up on it within the first 30 levels in ARR but now I decided to play it through recently and everything gets so much better. Especially the last addon is just so good. The combat always was bothering me in FF14 but it really opens up after lvl70.
