Poll - What VTT do you use?
🕑 Added 2021-01-28 12:48:16 +0000 UTCGreetings world builders!
I thought I'd reach out to see what VTT (or VTTs) you all use.
Feel free to comment with any that you use that aren't in the list, I know there are a lot of others popping up these days (like Astral and Encounter+ for example), but I've kept the list to the main one's I work with.
I'm considering branching out into dynamic Roll20 map support in the future, would that be of interest to you?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the results!
Happy gaming!

No, there isn't. They're stubbornly anti-coupon and will never allow it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Roll20/comments/9c9jmx/do_roll20_game_manuals_ever_go_on_sale/

I think there's a way to give Roll20 coupon codes. You'd probably have to do one per item, but I just got a coupon code through a Kickstarter, so it IS possible.

You and me both Eric, I think that's everyone's hope these days :)

Roll20, but I own Foundry, and experimenting with your dynamic maps. My players have a mix of tech savvy and some play on tablets, and Foundry is just not there yet in terms of supporting a variety of clients and hardware while we keep our game ‘remote’. When / if we get back to the table, can’t wait to use some of these maps in concert with real miniatures.

Well have I got the 30+ Foundry packs for you! :)

We use Fantasy grounds!

Finishing a roll20 campaign then my group plans to switch to foundry and not look back

This is pretty much the way I feel as well. I do think there's a way to import lighting settings, but I'm pretty sure you need a pro account to do so (and while I have one, I've never bothered to figure it out because only one cartographer I followed ever made them).

You can sell map packs through their site, definitely, but you can't adjust the pricing or give a coupon to patreon supporters, for example, so it's kind of a disincentive to us to stay here if you do, unless the price is so much higher there that we don't buy them and then this whole poll is moot. And I say this as someone who has hundreds of dollars of sunken costs in that system.
Moonlight Maps
Very interesting. I'm in talks with Encounter+ at the moment actually
Moonlight Maps
Well, not to push you, but I have around 30 map packs pre-built for FoundryVTT that you could use immediately
Moonlight Maps
That's a very interesting point. I'll have to look into the details of creating and circulating dynamic maps for Roll20...if it's even possible. Hmm.

I’m currently using Roll20, but I’m taking a hard look at FoundryVTT as my Roll20 sub is coming due soon.

Roll20, but honestly, there's two problems there: (1) most of the maps here don't really have borders that need R20 lighting adjustment as they're outdoors, and (2) the only way to get content in R20 that you don't upload yourself is to buy it at full price through their marketplace. If I did that, I'd have to drop out of this Patreon, and I don't think I want to pay their markup to get the same content with the creator hoping to get the same amount. Much easier to just upload and draw a few lines if I want a wall.
Yeah dynamic Roll20 stuff would be great

Owlbear Rodeo is nice and light, for players with weaker broadband.

I jumped on the Encounter+ train early on and have had huge success with streaming it to my players. I really love my setup I have going there, very smooth.

Dynamic Roll20 Map Support would be amazing! :D
