To give more detail - the contractor that renovated our house before we bought it used the wrong glue that wasn’t meant for PVC pipe. Aka, my house was a ticking time bomb, and it just finally went off after all of the melted snow.
As you guys can see in the photo — my crawl space was absolutely flooded. 2ft of standing, ice cold water. The poor plumber had to make his way all the way over to that pipe in order to fix it. We’re not sure of the damages yet to the sump pump itself or my brand new hot water heater — thankfully the heater is electric and not gas or else it would be toast. We have a restoration team coming today to see if there was any water damage and help dry up the crawl space. We’re going to need another plumber to come in to check the sump pump and hot water heater to ensure there’s no long lasting damage that could cause this to happening again.
I had a lot of boxes for my figures I collect that I’m going to try to have dried out and hopefully saved. I wanted them for the collectors aspect and in case whenever we moved to a bigger house in the future. There’s some sentimental items in the crawl space that I’m going to need to see if they can be salvaged.
Thank god for homeowners insurance. I got to pay for things up front but hopefully we can get reimbursed.

I'm happy to hear you're doing better and you got reliable help with the pipes. Looking at the collection in the water has made me devastated😨. But thankfully from the looks of things, the boxes got the most damage. Still sorry you have to deal with all of this.

Thankfully all that’s in those boxes are extra pieces to some figures and not the figures themselves— but it sucks because some of the boxes are from original runs of prints from over ten years ago :(

That’s awful! I really hope there is no bad water damage! Fingers crossed you can save some if not all of your figures too. Hope that things are sorted out quickly for you and that you’re doing okay (as okay as you can be considering the situation)
