Viscid lore:
Bones of magical creatures [monsters, magic users etc] become infused with magic through their lives. Type of magic is highly dependant on the creatures lifestyle and emotional makeup.
After the creatures death the bones become a potent alchemical ingredient. If exposed to right set of environmental factors they can spontaneously spawn a new type of magical creature called a Viscid.
Type of Viscid and it's diet are determined by the magical flavor of the bones and the original creature's makeup.
Most Viscids are simple mindless creatures created spontaneously from small animal bones, but sometimes a sentient one can spawn from potent humanoid bones.
If the bones once belonged to a particularly lustful humanoid you get a horny slime lady that needs sex fluids to survive.
