Short Story: Mrs. Derry goes for a ride

[Mrs. Derry, an older woman with an overactive imagination, has to hitchhike go get home after a fight with her husband. When a rough looking man picks her up, what is she to do, but to get a bit over excited?

The man looked exactly like the kind whose car Mrs. Derry should not be getting into. Like the kind her mother warned her about a long, long time ago. But she was tired and frankly, she did not care much at this point. It was either this, or spend the night at a bus stop in the middle of nowhere.
"So? You gettin' in or what?" The man insisted, his voice rough.
"Yes. Thank you... You're really helping me out here," she said as she made the decision to get in. Hitchhiking with a strange man it was!
The car - a rusted old thing - did not look very inviting from the outside. The interior was a sad reminder that sometimes, you should indeed judge the book by it's cover. The back seat was was full of trash and blankets, so Mrs. Derry opted to sit in front. At least the seat was comfortable.
"You said you're going to Scranton? Yeah I can take you that far. Sure..." the man laughed as he spoke. It sounded rather ominous to Mrs. Derry
"Scranton, yes... Thank you," She said as the car accelerated too fast, pressing her into the seat. Well, too late to get out now! "Ahem... My name's Matilda."
"Yeah? So what're you doing out here? Matilda? Dangerous place for a pretty lady like you," the man said, with a grin.
She decided to ignore all the red flags in that sentence. "I... Had a... Disagreement with my... Soon to be ex husband. I decided to walk home... It was a bad idea."
"What he do? He step out on you?"
Mrs. Derry opted not to answer. It was too humiliating. The man grimaced.
"That's crazy! If it was me, I'd never do that. A lady like you, I'd never look at anybody else!"
Mrs. Derry shivered. The way the man was looking at her... Even as old as she was, at fifty years old, she still got those kinds of looks from men sometimes. Usually, she enjoyed them. They were a nice reminder of how pretty she used to be, before the extra weight came... Before there were streaks of grey in her once black hair. But now? It made her start to regret getting into his man's car. Now inside, close to him, she realized how large he was. How strong his arms looked. And was that a neck tattoo? Didn't only criminals have those?
"Ahem! What- what- what do you do for a living? Mr..."
"Oh this and that... This and that. I get by," the man said, once again not giving her his name. She waited for him to continue, but he did not. She caught him glancing at her legs, thankfully mostly covered by her blue sundress. He ignored her otherwise, focusing on the road. The silence stretched, as Mrs. Derry struggled to recognize the road they were on. Were they actually driving towards Scranton?
She cursed her husband for putting her in this situation... When she walked away from him after he revealed his... Recent activities; she thought he would follow her. Did he not care at all anymore? Anything could be happening to her right now! She could be - let's say as a random example - be trapped in a car with a deranged, possibly sex obsessed criminal!
Mrs. Derry glanced once more at the man's hands. At the way the cords of muscle flexed on his thick forearms as he gripped the wheel. She tried to imagine how strong he was... Why, he could do anything he wanted to her! Anything could happen! She could almost see it... He was going to drive her out, in the middle of nowhere and make her get out of the car. Bend her over the still hot hood and hike up her dress, exposing her to the cold night's air.
Would he use his fingers to get her wet first? Or just stick his member in? Not caring for her comfort at all? Or maybe he would make her get on her knees and suck him. She would have to take his dirty... thing in her mouth and make him feel good, until he finished and made her swallow it all. He was young enough that it would not be over then, not by a long shot. There was nothing she could do to stop him. Nothing! What if he took her back to his house and-
"Hey! Matilda! You sleeping?" the man's voice startled her out of her daze.
"Wha- what?"
"I asked, where in Scranton you wanna go?" he asked, sounding annoyed. It seemed like it wasn't the first time he asked the question.
They were stopped at an intersection, not far from her house. The man was pointing at the road signs above, looking impatient. She tried to blink away the drowsiness from her eyes. Did she fall asleep?
"Oh... You're going to take me home?" She said, an odd feeling, a mixture of relief and disappointment filling her. That's it?
"Yeah? It's late! I'm not gonna make you walk!"
"You're not going to do anything else... to me..." Mrs. Derry said before she could stop herself. A flush exploded on her face. Did she really just say that?
The man raised his eyebrow hearing that. An easy smile slid onto his face. He looked almost charming this way. Almost. "Oh yeah? What was that? What'd you think I'd do?"
"Nothing! I was- sorry I wasn't thinking. It's- Oh nevermind! My house is just down the-"
"You sounded really disappointed that I wouldn't do... It..." He interrupted her, now openly leering at her breasts. She felt her flush deepening and her nipples getting hard, the little traitors. She was sure they were poking through the fabric of her sundress, but was ashamed to look.
"It's nothing! Please just... Forget I said anything... Just- just go straight through, and then turn left." she begged. This was turning out to be the worst night of her life.
The man said nothing for a while, as Mrs. Derry fidgeted in her seat. Finally, he nodded and started the car. At least her humiliation would come to an end soon. In a few minutes she would be home and... And she would have to talk to her husband. If the cad went home and not back into the arms of that hussy- Mrs. Derry swayed in her seat as the car turned right, instead of going straight. Away from the lights of the city and into a dimly lit side road.
The silence in the car continued as they drove further away from her house. Mrs. Derry almost asked about what he was doing, but a feeling she could not quite place kept her silent. She idly watched as they left the suburbs behind, her mind empty. They stopped in a large open field, surrounded by farmland. The closest building she could see was a farmhouse, perhaps a mile away.
They were alone, in the middle of nowhere. In the middle of the night.
The man turned off the engine, and sat back in his seat, looking very satisfied with himself. Mrs. Derry felt anything but. She felt... Odd. Unbalanced. She waited for the fear to grab her, but it refused to. She considered wanting to go home... But... She did not. Her husband was waiting for her there... Maybe. Or maybe he went to meet his... Woman. Mrs. Derry sighed.
The man smiled and got out of the car, making her heart speed up. Anxiety flooding in. The overhead light was just enough to see him, slowly, walk around the front of the car and approach the doors on her side. Mrs. Derry's heart hammered in her chest as he got closer. What was going to happen next? What would he do to her?
The car door opened; the man stood in front of her in the dim light, his hands on the hood of the car, looking down at her. He was even taller than she estimated. Tall enough that his groin was level with her breasts. The fabric of his jeans stretched over his hard... His hard... Mrs. Derry swallowed, her mouth suddenly full of saliva.
"So... What did you think I would do to you? Matilda?" The stranger asked, his voice rough and deep. It pushed into her core, reverberating through her, taking her breath away. She wanted to answer him, but found herself unable to. He chuckled, seeing her predicament.

The ground was rather cold on her lady bits, so she tried standing up. On wobbly knees she managed to haul herself back into his car. That was much better. Much more comfortable than the ground! She dug around in her purse, and managed to find a napkin to clean herself a bit. Another small victory.
She sat back in the seat, comfortably numb. Before long, she felt the weight of the car shift, as the man sat in the driver seat. Without saying anything he turned on the engine and off they went. Mrs. Derry considered opening her eyes to see where they were going but what was the point? What was he going to do? Drive her to a different field and have his way with her again?
"Ahem... So... Which way was it again? Matilda?" The man said, sounding chipper. She felt rather chipper herself. They were back at the intersection.
"Just- ahem! Just go straight through. Then left," she said with some difficulty. Her throat felt rough. A grunt was all the response she got.
In a few short minutes, they were pulled into her driveway. Her husband's car was not here. Looks like he did not come home after the fight... He must be at the... Other woman's house right now. Mrs. Derry sighed.
"Ahem... Are you... No hard feelings?" The man asked, sounding nervous.
"Oh? Oh no. No hard feelings... That was..." She searched for the right word. "That was just what I needed," was what she finally settled on. That felt close enough to the truth.
He smiled and winked at her, looking smug. She thought about asking him for his name again... Or for his number. Or a thousand other things, but in the end, she simply got out of his car without saying anything. He tore out of her driveway the second the doors were closed. His license plate was from out of state; the other side of the country in fact. She would never see him again.
She smiled, feeling relieved.
Mrs. Derry stood there, for a moment, enjoying the feeling of the cool night air on her skin. The neighborhood was quiet. All the good, decent people of Oak Grove were asleep. She took a deep breath, and searched for some sort of new wickedness inside of her. Any sort of change brought on by the... Recent events. She found none.
She was exactly the same woman she was a couple of hours ago. How curious.
A yawn broke her out of her musings. Gosh, how late was it? She was dead tired... And she definitely needed a shower before going to bed. Yes, a good night's sleep was exactly what she needed right now.
Because tomorrow was going to be a busy, busy day. For one, she was going to have to find a divorce lawyer...
And then? Who knows? Perhaps fifty was not too old to try new things? And the world was huge, and full of things she had yet to do.

I appreciate the emphasis on both of them wanting it and the relative communication about consent. It can be fun to make consent a little hazy in fiction, but I appreciate that you've never depicted sex being forced on someone who truly didn't want it.

Amazing story, very lifely and easy to follow. It definitely gave me some spicy imaginations. As a small remark i think the direction they gave on the crossroad in the end was not matching with the first approach. She said staight then left first but he went right, so coming back he would have to turn right to be in the same road. Or am I mistaken?
