I think the issue still remains that it's just too easy, avoiding battles means you never have to spend a thing for the Toads to help, and it's super easy to just find multiple bags worth 100 coins just laying around or in boxes. I believe his issue with it was that the battles yet again are not neccessary, thus a leveling up system doesn't even make sense in this game. But that's just how I understood it! The game definitely has it's ups and downs :)

Definently mixed feelings when watching the review. As always Arlo's opinions are completely valid. But my personal disagreements still made me bummed watching it.

I read a big one, thought oh maybe like 40 minutes, but no it's more than double that. I know what to watch tonight.

Arlo just solved one of the greatest video game questions in history for me. I always loved the older iterations of the series better, but never could put my thoughts into words. Origami was really (or at least somewhat) close but not there, and I couldn't put my finger on why.But when Arlo went into the fact that internal development is at "war" with each other (that is a pretty extreme way of putting it but I couldn't find a better way to put it) then you do start to see these awkward situations where it is almost there and not really. Thank you Arlo, great video, don't be afraid to put out content that could cause not very nice people to be a little rude. Hopefully no one is uncivil about this or rude. Have a good one.

Hey arlo, don't know if you'll read this but an interesting way to think of the "badge system" in origami king is-- it's actually less like the badge system in TYD, and more like a level up system. Like, you use something you earn from battles to get permanent stat boosts. You don't have to pick and choose, you just... Get the boost once you spend the coins. This isn't going against anything in your video, it's just a thought I had.

Okay I guess this'll be watched in a few sessions. From what I've watched so far though, it's a shame that Arlo wasn't able to more effectively look past what he wanted the game to be and look at what it actually is. I really enjoyed it, and my impression so far is that Arlo's (deserved) love of TTYD makes it just not feasible for him to truly appreciate what this game is as opposed to what it isn't.
