I too always prepare for the worst case scenario. If I'm ok with that, then anything else that happens, I know I can deal with. I asked my therapist if I was crazy for doing that. She said absolutely not, that's it's a very common coping mechanism! We're not crazy, ladies!!!! Well... about that. 😛

I went to look for Jellyman, but the image I remembered was black and white and a little less human-like... was there a "scarier" version up at one point or did I imagine the crap out of this? If it's real, the music I think of when I see it is the intro to Ministry's "NWO"--not the main song, just the intro which happens a couple more times in the song. It's industrial, so it's not for everyone, but was formative for me.

I think the song we should send into space for aliens is Bohemian Rhapsody. It encompasses many different human musical genres, is as beautiful as it is cryptic lyrically, and shows what a small group of humans can accomplish. And lets not forget the cultural history and importance where a song that was relatively hated initially has grown to be commonly referred to as the greatest rock song of all time.
