It's been almost a week. It's still monetised. You failed Dan. You need to go more f*** up!

I'm enjoying the change in the direction you are taking and think the uncomftable atmosphere realy works.

I love the video dude. The ending music is something else along with the rock and Marty quote I expect that to be changing every video(the music that is.) glad to have you back I’ve been running out of videos from my favourite YouTuber and now the videos are better.

Creators making videos because they want to make videos. People watching videos because they want to watch the videos. This is what YouTube was, that is what it was for. But it slowly turned into a monetized piece of shit full of comentaries, vlogs, and reaction videos. I'll be honest Dan, I never came to you for comfort, I came to you because your videos are funny as shit. But when YouTube ramped up the monetization so did you (at no fault to you) and I kind of stopped watching. Every now and than a plays video would crack me up but it wasn't the Minecraft buildy thingy I fell in love with you for. This video though, this video changes everything. Some people thought it was too much, some people didn't like the uncomfortableness, but that uncomfortableness is precisely what I started watching for. I kept watching, waiting for it to come back. I was right to wait. YouTube can't keep us down. Creativity will prevail. Also I'm upping the amount I donate each month. ;)

So I really can't say from this first video (of the 3rd era? A s03e01?;) ) are you loosing your sh*t or just trying to make us believe that, but in truth have a master plan for the future. I'm hoping for the latter:) I'm watching your videos now and then for a few years now, and I would like to continue to do that, but hearing what youtube is doing with the monetization i realize people start to look for some other source of income and that's a bummer. I hope that finances are not the sole reason for the big change. Anyways, about the video. It was ok (I probably did not get the full joke :( ). I felt like the "growing madness" was a bit forced. An earrape warning would be nice (an icon in the corner maybe). What bugged me the most was the poor variety of the swearing. As I'm thinking of it now i would appreciate a lot more a kind of "Matrix Reloaded - Merovingian French Cursing" stuff. In English of course. Anyways, can't wait to see more of your stuff. Cheers.

Personally, I think this is one of the best youtube videos I've seen for a long time. Despite (or perhaps because of?) the discomfort, I found parts of the video genuinely funny - funnier even than the Wrestling Revolution video. I also think that use of the quote from Rick and Morty at the end, "Welcome to the darkest year of our adventures" was very appropriate, as I feel the latest season of Rick and Morty has been the same - uncomfortable, and yet in some ways funnier than anything that's come before. I am completely onboard with this and can't wait to see what comes next!

Raphael Thoulouze

Fuck routine but I'd rather be surprised by each video than systematically made uncomfortable (slight nuance, there), lest this turns into the how to basic of video gaming...

Karen Prag

I think too many creators rely on the routine thing from their viewers. You know the ones tuning in, leaving the video droning on in the background and not paying attention. I really appreciate the effort of making something to break that routine. And I liked the protest. Youtube can go fuck itself

Sounds like a weird, boring and some times special type fun. I'M ALL IN! i just hope you don't go too far and go all salad fingers on us. but in the end it's all up to you. as they say in weird and old cartoons "the most important thing is to have fun".

this is where my money went, mONEY WELL SPENT

Mike Jones

Ok, you're doing this to go against the mainstream (at least I think that's why) buuuutttttt for me it's going to need to be more than this. Didn't really see it as dark, didn't exactly make me uncomfortable, was just a rather empty 10 minutes. Anyway, I'll wait and see what else comes. I will admit, however, that if we're all about burning the ad friendly culture then I'm all in. I would just say that I think it's important to keep the material full of substance while doing so.

This video was so awful and terrifying I felt I had to support you here.

Jeremy Abel

I want to see this just get nuts. Like, meta storytelling via the let's play format that slowly evolves into like an ARG or something

DrunkUkrainian

I like the new style. It seems to be more based on telling a story through video games than your old style and I can't bloody wait to see what you've got in store for us!

Ruth

clearly I have become a patron at the right time

Well done Dan, I love it!

SammyToesis

I'm ready for this, I've had my one month rest. I'm ready for my brain to get fucked.

FilthyJasmineTea

Me likey, Dan :)

Tom Chaney

I physically fell over laughing at "communists!" (admittedly I was sitting down, so it was more f a gradual tip, but I'd say it counts)

MrAndyTF

A triumphant return!

Rip headphone users, that was a fkin great return tho

Mitchel van Ham

This was truly a refreshment in the youtube gaming scene! Keep up the work! :D

Jack

Neally died watching this I love how your going against what shit YouTube has been doing can't fucking wait for more I love the new nerd3 :)

Miley Hollenberg

If you want me to be uncomfortable with you, just start imitating Shane Dawson's awkward/cringy older videos, good luck trying to make me feel uncomfortable with your videos and I'm glad you're back :D

I've never had to brace myself for a nerdcubed video before and the effect was...unnerving. I'm really looking forward to the new era of nerdcubed if this is what we're in for!

Mimi

That was glorious, and proved exactly why I'll keep coming back from more. You never stop surprising me! Thank you Dan <3

hey dan you want to know something ironic?i got an ad at the start of the video

I think you succeeded in what you set out to do and delivered exactly what you said you would. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the ride you want to take us on. There were bits to this video that alluded to your excitement for what you're doing now and I find that terribly exciting. It's an excellent and very welcome return.

Dayton Green

Well stellar job making me uncomfortable. I was expecting you to suddenly break into laughter and Just Cause 3 appears with massive wonton disctrution and you saying that you are back and everything is as right as rain. That didn't happen. I am perturbed

May

Holy shit, that was fantastic! Is it weird that I think the strangest part of this video is how you apparently like dubstep now? ...And more importantly, I have no idea what happened, but holy shit every single time I watch the new video I get ads! This is amazing! Yes, I am allowed to celebrate ads.

You, my good sir, are a hipster. Welcome.

Daniel Auty

so expect the unexpected then Dan? I like it! :D

Ryan Earles

I am looking forward to what is coming

Ryan Earles

Dan you are fucking amazing!!! I love your humor and videos.

I come to you because you're a personality, your humor extends beyond the jokes, and that makes each video entertaining

Dan. You are fucking awesome.

Jarrad M

Bit late to the party here but I thought this video was amazing. Can't wait to see what you've got next.

Stan Collins

Without sounding corny... Nerd3 is an artist when it comes to YouTube.

Tail Of Truth

I love it. This is the best your channel has ever been. It seems you're trying to wean your audience down to the most abnormal, rebellious, unstable, and weird audience group possible. So I have to ask; are you planning on building a colony ship? If it includes dogs, I'm in.

Diane Frank

I loved experiencing it, the first time. Weird and you, in the best way. The second time though, I thought about it. Your edited videos have always been deliberately crafted for a purpose and effect, and I will always very much appreciate that, but this one... The time you took to decide EXACTLY what you wanted to do with it was all over it. I love that. I love that I can just take a "gaming" video in, and also then want to examine it. I'm so glad we can help you get to this point. Can't wait to see what you do going forward.

Jeremy Abel

make it weirder, man! Become performance art. Fall into the glitch void

Ian Murphy

Dark. Uncomfortable. Bland. Kid unfriendly. And yet I still had an ad before it! Fantastic work btw, let's see just how deep the rabbit hole goes! Lead on!

Nerd³

If he wants to send free donuts then tell him to hit me up. I need my fix maaaaan...

Nerd³

Confused and satisfied is the name of my sex tape.

Allen Hillaker

I don't know what this was, but I definitely approve.

Good god almighty becoming a patreon has never been more worth it. I needed to know the explanation to this video. I love it. I'm glad the change has happened and I look forward to being tortured some more...

It's alright. It's nice to see videos again, but it seemed too dark and edgy. I think that recording IRL things should be left to bits like the one in John Wick VR. There's definitely room for improvement here.

Good stuff. I'm ashamed to say one of the devs is a frequent customer at my shop. He's gonna get a kick out of this.

Harmelodic

I think I get what you're trying to do. You're trying to break the barrier. You're trying to be clever and twist things and make them interesting whilst keeping the audience on their toes. Coming up to this reboot, I was pumped. You said you'd destroy your channel and after seeing some spectacularly edited videos of yours in the past, I knew how good you were and how creative you can be. In fact, all I've seen is what you have put out, I haven't seen those scripts you've written for Doctor Who or any of your other material, but your history, style and the fact that you were discarding all connections to the past and wanting to go out with a bang by doing the most creative, weird shit possible. I was looking forward to that. What you produced as an opener, was 45 seconds of genuine interesting film, followed by 7 minutes and 15 seconds of boring, mundane shit, followed by a quick build up to the scream, then an outro and a 20 second flash back to the interesting film. That 7 minutes and 15 seconds added nothing, it wasn't even a prop. Hell, you could have just inserted the last build up to the scream and it would have given the same effect of weird and uncomfortable. What I feel you've tried to do is go: "What doesn't anyone do?...Well, no one does anything boring. So I'll do boring!" and used that usage of 'boring' to make something interesting. Personally, I don't think it worked or paid off. As I said in my original comment, it tends to lead to boring and uninteresting, and that's exactly what I think this video did. What you've effectively made is a video that a boring channel, just starting up, would make. The only difference is, people know who you are and recognise that this is different from what you normally do. You've created an impact and a difference in what we'll see from you, and that gets people talking, arguing, complain and drives talk about you. You've successfully grabbed people's attention, but in doing so, you've also set the bar low for the type of "different" content you make. My only hope is that what comes out will improve in creativity, writing and the amount of effort you put into these videos, because right now, my friend Steven makes more interesting, "different", creative gaming-related content than you have in this video.

CarrierOfTime

I think somewhere along the line you nailed it. I approve of this, lots.

Nah far too edgy for my tastes. Art imitating life imitating youtube imitating a dark weird European film that's on at 3 am on channel 4 that you switched over to and missed the first 40 minutes of but god damn it you'll figure out what that story was about if it kills you! You said Cunt a lot Daniel. I'm even more excited to see what happens next, much like the European films sequel that I bought of Amazon for 30 quid cos its super rare because nobody gets it.

Woodchip NZ

I've enjoyed your videos for a while now, and the videos I most enjoy are ones where it feels like you're just being you. No pretense, no BS, just Dan, a mic and a few expletives. Good on you for coming back and being you.

Your plan is twisted and fucked up. I like it

Jack Harnett

I didn't realise it till I watched the video but, this is what I've always wanted you to make. Undoubtedly the best video you've made in my opinion! Keep it up :)

I loved the old nerdcubed, but I love the new nerdcubed more. This is great. You evoked the exact feeling you were going for.

Linus Kågström

I'm interested to see where this goes. However, I've always come to you for a good laugh. Hope I can still do that with this new direction :) But remember just do what you feel like doing, It's good that you don't want to care about adventisters and such, just don't get lost in focusing on just stickning it to them.

Tim Wiles

I didn't exactly get the point and wasn't particularly entrained but I think that was the point. Interested to see where this goes.

I thought that is was brilliant. I found the buildup on-point and it got me in the exact emotions you intended. The overall execution was very good! I can't wait for what you do next! :D

Michael Simmons

This has made me so fucking stoked for whatever comes next!

Conor Moran

Been a fan of yours since the early days, now I finally have the means to give something back and boy am I delighted to. Today's video is the perfect starting point of the new era, best of luck Dan

Jeremy Abel

A R T

Westley Wilson

Beautiful. It is a true thing of beauty.

David Howard

I don't know what I just watched. But I'm... intrigued, is tbe best way to put it.

Luke Fitzpatrick

IT'S A YEAR OF DEMMA DEMMa ... oh my

While worried for your mental stability, I am the most excited I've been for this channel. Throwing caution and sanity to the wind to create social media ad hate art is a dark, but beautiful concept

Frankly, a masterpiece

It was wonderful. You've created something truly mad. And I love it.

Matt Eden

It was... different.

Hazel

Regarding the video, I laughed at the intro. Then the laugh faded into an uncertain smile throughout the video. Then I thought. "This isn't actually very good" "I don't even really want to keep watching this". I kept watching. It didn't get any better. Then I laughed again at the outro. Uncomfortable is definitely the right word 10/10

Another Aperture

Ace! Welcome back Dan 👍🏻

Thanks for coming back! I think you did it just right, because I started laughing like a maniac when I read the title, and pretty much kept doing that during the video. Like the new style, the new logo and also the tune you used today. Don't tell the others, but Dubstep is secretly quite good.

Alexander Már Bjarnason

I wonder how much the new Rick and Morty series influenced your return?

only thing that'd make this better would be siri helping you out

I love the new logo! And the way you animated it. I didn't get the video at first, but at the end I finally got it!

this is great i love it when you do weird shit, totaly worth my money to get you to be able to do this

Welf Garkisch

You certainly made me feel uncomfortable. Had to turn down volume quite a bit...but as the Tomska horse-people say: I love it.

Timeskip

I said it on Twitter and I'll say it again here. This is art

The new video is the reason I'm not supporting you. If ad revenue won't let you make these videos I wanna make sure you can because nobody else is gonna tbh

Brandon Fillenworth

I can get comfortable with this amount of uncomfortable. I love it.

I've always enjoyed your chatty videos most, I watch for your personality rather than the games or any scripted/roll playing content, but I'm looking forward to where you're going with this!

Yorkshire Chef

I love this, I don't know what the hell it is but i love it.

Zachary Orion Lloyd

I'm proud of you for showing youtube where they can shove their advertiser friendly content XD

Have been subbed to you since Let's Play Buildy Thingy (2012 I think?) and this video just made me a Patreon today (Is that weird?). I think this new direction is great as it will eliminate all the routiners and single out the true fans in this community. With that being said, ITS STILL FUCKING WEIRD IDK HOW TO FEEL WTF! I'm very satisfied.

That was brilliant welcome back

I'm happy to see you're back. finally convinced my to go and make a patreon account because of this. takes balls man. I'd like to see where you're going with this

Wait a second, Boris Johnson wans't originally in this!

h3.

Still happy to keep throwing my bit in. The video today was nail on the head. Glad this is enabling Dan to just not give a shit about being advertiser friendly.

Jack Schillawski

I feel like you perfectly achieved your goal of being a bit weird, and I also like the idea that the people who were super resistant to change will fuck off before next week's video, decrying your channel as dead and you as a moron. Meanwhile, those of us who know that whatever you do is for a reason and believe in the changes will be able to tell them next week HOLY SHIT, That video was brilliance, best of the channel's history, and they all either realize they were wrong or piss off and never come back, leaving the positive people around.

Jaimus Tilley

Dude, I think Dan got hip. He used Dub-Step

Aw man, I've never felt so confused and satisfied. The return is going to be just weird.

Christopher Perman

I have no idea what I just watched, but I loved it.

Shawn Lindsay

it felt like a short film with weird bit in the middle, and the boringness did come across well since i did look at the time left on the video at least once. I feel like the a guardian arts film critic would like it

It was uncomfortable. It was unexpected. I enjoyed that, keep that uncomfortableness-train rolling.

I thought it was brilliant

Titusz Ban

I was completely lost for words after the video...

Sam

Well, fuck.

Hailey Morrison

This is the most elaborate heel turn I've ever witnessed, I'm really digging it tho. The video was the rad kind of surreal

Alex Sutherland

I don't know how to feel about this and that is why it's the best thing. 9 MORE SEASONS!!!

i COULDNT WIPE THE DAMN SMILE OFF MY FACE. Im damn excited about this dark turn.

Brad

Loved the video cant wait to see how the nice town gets burnt down

Excited to see how much more fuel you can throw onto that fire - you're burning the channel and we LOVE IT.

Dave

Good video Dan. I hate it, yet I looove it.

Nerd³

Stewart Lee was actually an inspiration for this! The IRL bits were based on him talking in the pub in between his stand up in Comedy Vehicle!

Weird but yet Bloody Excellent

La Jetée: Tapped Out

I'm so excited for this

Amy Ravenwood

Wait...did we all just watch performance art on 'fuck you youtube'? 0_o

Toby cooper

Dan? Is Rebecca okay?

I haven't got anything particularly new to say, I liked it. I think this is a really interesting way to go. I will say though, some of the audience reaction (and your statement of intent, to some extent) reminded of this article: <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/comedy/10437964/Why-I-walked-out-of-a-Stewart-Lee-gig.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/comedy/10437964/Why-I-walked-out-of-a-Stewart-Lee-gig.html</a> (I'm a huge Stewart Lee fan by the way)

The ending was completely what I needed. It showed exactly the opposite of what Youtube is, but instead what it used to be, which is weird, slightly useless but entertaining videos.

Not sure about uncomfortable, but it did leave me confused 😂 looking forward to the next video, keep the madness coming x

Nerd³

Oh it will be. After next week you'll go "Oh, never mind." :p

I hope Rebecca's not too scared to live with you now... hehe

Amy Ravenwood

Your VR videos are always the best. Job Simulator was my fav series.

Nerd³

It's exactly that. Next episode deals with a Tiny VR Town and Jerry's divorce.

Nerd³

The ending was actually far, far more bizarre at one point (Think the end of the film 2001) but it felt like it was too much. I wanted to keep it a bit more grounded in the reality of YouTube.

Toby cooper

Your old logo seems really strange now

Amy Ravenwood

Good on you then. Can't wait.

Nerd³

I totally get that point. Next week's video is deliberately more "standard" because of it. It still has weird bits and dark bits but today's video was me saying "I'm back...", next weeks is me saying "...and I'm better than ever."

I don't even know what to say... I have no words. But it worked cause I'm totally intrigued for the rest! I had a full speed hype train going into this video, then you completely derailed it, but now we'll the passengers are running round on fire screaming and next Saturdays video will hopefully be the bucket of water to extinguish those flames

Alexander Davis

is it just me or does this need to be darker?

Paul Turner

If this is what my money got spent on... I'm not giving enough.

Nerd³

That's my new life goal. :D

Nerd³

I settle it down a bit next week but there's still that dark undercurrent. Matt and I had many, many conversations about what should be the first video. He thought next weeks is better, and it is, but this one packs the most punch if it's first.

Zachary Cox

They don't get it, the Youtube comments are full of blank faces and dubstep critiques. The weeks ahead will be glorious.

Ehman Tannenholz

I fucking loved it, I'm super excited to see this new direction, personally I was getting kinda bored with your videos recently

Nerd³

Maybe!

Nerd³

Every video is going to be different. While I am deliberately going darker later videos are actually videos and not just one long setup to a punchline that never comes. :p

Quinn Sharon

I'm glad that while everyone else is making simple and familiar PUPG and Destiny videos. I can count on you to make a video that makes me equal parts bored uncomfortable and excited, and not to mention laugh harder then I ever have before. You are officially the Rick and Morty of YouTube (and not in a derivative way).

I am very excited for the future

Cervalt

I think the outro is very jarring, but honestly I'm more concerned in the fact that this sounds like the manifesto of a fucking serial killer.

Well I'm certainly uncomfortable, so mission accomplished I guess? I actually am quite excited for where this channel is going, you hit it right on the nose with people coming to youtube channels as a routine. I'm hopeful to fall in love with your content again like I did 5 years ago, godspeed dan.

Nerd³

All the music I'll be using from here on out will be from the free YouTube audio library. This one's called "The End is Near."

Sorry, but I didn't find it entertaining, at all. I support the change that you want to make, go all weird and ad unfriendly. But it wasn't... entertaining. I'm not gonna stop watching your content, by any means. Disliking one video doesn't mean that I'll hate the following content. For what I read about what the video, you achieved your objective. But still... being entertaining should be a priority.

elis one l

I'm shocked. That's exactly what I thought, that's exactly what you did, that's exactly what you /were/ to me. Truthfully, though, I get into routines and I get out of them. I get bored of them eventually- maybe that's why I've been watching you for so long- 4-5 years. Most of my interests have lasted a year at most, for perspective. That video came across exactly how you wanted it to- this whole post has left me feeling personally attacked. I'm not giving you what you want from this! I'm gonna do my best to feel as comfortable as possible in your videos now, out of spite! Man, I'm excited for the future of nerdcubed. The videos, the games, the book, the streams... Honestly? I can't wait.

Addison Reilly

I have a feeling it will do a kind of rick and morty type thing. It will be the most absurd and out there in the beginning, but slowly tone down into something unique and funny. Either that or the joke will kind of get old.

I slightly feel like we are entering the darkest timeline :P It was uncomfortable but I kept watching for the pay off. I wanted to see what point you were building to and admittedly the pay off was deeply, darkly satisfying. Well done p.s love the new logo plus the video beginning and end.

Nerd³

I feel like the game had to be a prop in this one, that's why I went for such a terrible, throwaway game. I needed you to think "is this it?" mid-way through to ramp it up to the weird levels I wanted. It had to be a game I didn't like so you'd expect critique that never came. This episode was basically just an endless succession of rug-pulls. :D

Harmelodic

You went boring and dark? There's a reason people don't do that: because it's boring and uninteresting. If you wanted weird and uncomfortable, be more creative about it. I'm still going to watch as I'm curious to see what you're going to do, but you should have been more creative. I like the intro and outro though (the bits where you're on the phone), that was creative.

Toby cooper

If this is the main channel, what's the toy channel going to be like? Oh god.

Andyface

Honesty feel like it could've been more bizarre, not sure if that's cos I'm used to your brand of weird or since watching Akira as a teenager, my bar for weird moved significantly 😅 Either way I'm glad you're deciding not to aim to be advertiser friendly, that can only be a good thing for your content (and probably you), even if it won't be so good from a business stand point. Looking forward to what comes next

Max Tal

My smile kept getting wider as I kept on reading that, you go Dan

Dan, you hit the nail on the head with this post. I spent today refreshing my sub box to see this new video. Honestly I was pretty hyped. Hopes high. The first few minutes I just felt happy to see a video back from you. Next few minutes I started to feel bored and began to wonder "what's the point of this video? Is there going to be a punchline at the end of this, or is the point that there is no point?" Finally I started to feel uncomfortable, the peak of that is when my uncle walked in to ask me a question right as you showed the severed legs and heads of sprites in a field, and I suddenly felt embarrassed by what I was watching and tried to explain. You hit all the notes in this video. I loved the "I don't give a shit" attitude, and the gratuitous language. You've got me genuinely wondering where this rollercoaster is headed. I have other youtubers for the "Faux companionship" you described, you're doing something I'm equally scared and excited for. Something I haven't seen another youtuber do! Something that can't be possible without a platform like youtube mixed with Patreon. Excited for next week.

I'm going to be brutally honest here: I don't think this video achieved what you wanted it to. Was it bizarre? Kinda. But there's the good kind of bizarre you see in absurdist humour, and then there's just random for the sake of it. It didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all, and I'm willing to bet it didn't really make many others uncomfortable either. They could tell that's the reaction you wanted, so that's what they gave you.

Jack

(Copied from my comment in the community tab) Absolutely fantastic. I was wondering where it was going, but it crescendo-ed perfectly and I was laughing my ass off by the time the punchline came around.

Riaz Thompson

It was unexpected brilliance, it was weirder than anything you've done but all I could think of was what on earth is coming next week.

that was the funniest videos i've seen in my life also very. very uncomfortable, i was holding my headphone an inch out of my ear by the end. True beauty

Agrajag

I loved it - it made me happy and scared all at the same time. Was the Zoloft bit in the description true? If it was, welcome to the club! &lt;3

Charles Parry

Not really my kind of thing. I see what you were going for but it's not something I particularly enjoyed. As a statement of intent it's great, but not something I really want to watch weekly. Hopefully the streaming will be more a replacement for the old content for me, but I guess we'll wait and see how it all works.

Magnus Virgil Sørensen

Honestly, I really like the idea, and the video is even better after reading the thoughts behind it! I wouldn't say I loved it, but it was really good, and I think this is one of those ideas that could honestly develop into something very new and very, very interesting. I think my only problem with this video was that it was very... static, I guess. I think because of this, the slow descent into madness felt a little forced and not actually "slow", because we were literally seeing each step in the form of a slideshow. I really dug the idea tho, and the live action parts were superb! I'm super interested in what you're doing, and fuck me, am I excited to see where this strange strange new channel is headed :) Keep it up Dan

It was superb. Weird, hint of darkness, new but oddly familiar- the side of you we saw hints of in the past. Awesome stuff.

Simon Steel

If I wanted routine is be on manyatruenerds patreon :-p I jest, but I wasn't a big fan of this video, seeing your explanation I get it I guess it just seems. Well..... Forced. That said I am looking forward to advertiser unfriendly nerdcubed :)

I find that you perfectly achieved that goal you set for yourself. With that said and as a patreon from the very start I have to say this: The video I watched while not standard nerdcubed material was good but forgetable, I fear that setting forth for greater endeavors outside the platform of youtube will cause a lot of people to lose interest if the main content ceases to inspire interest and knowing that many patreons support you for the youtube content I also fear that we may see a decline in patreon support. I 'll let mine active for now waiting to see what comes next but as I cannot due to obligations watch livestreams and having not seen other type of media, be it a book, film, game etc to know if I am interested in that side of nerdcubed I advise that you tread carefully and not take patreon support for granted. Waiting with my breath held for the next video and the game we 've been waiting for so long. Toodles!

Valthexus

Loved it. Good to see you back. I was crying and laughing at the end and I feel proud of you and I just loved it. Even the music fitted in well and the dubstep was glorious.

Loved the video. Good to have you back Sir

Weronika Michalska

This is exactly what I hoped for. It was weird and uncomfortable and the music was perfect. It was perfect. Can't wait for the next one.

That was fucking nuts

Tim Ackley

That was pretty much everything you promised, dark and insane. I guess keep up the good work?

Ben Chilcott

It did exactly what you wanted it to do and that's perfect. I was laughing like a maniac towards the end what have you done to me

Will ''The Button King'' Harding

I loved it. Perfect everything. The mental breakdown at the end was done amazingly well. The live action bits were superb. The song is now dubstep? Right... All in all, everything was wizard. (Also, I vote to bring back the word wizard)

Daniel Shenton

Good to have you back and better than ever! If it wan't for the fact I about to become a student again I'd up my Patreon donation right now.

Dip Cheesus

First. Was dissapointed. As video went on. Was confused. Near end. Was entertained. At end. Was Scared. Now. Am exited.

Niklas Jensen

I always watched The Chanel because it was weird and exciting. Yes it was part of my ever day but it was never overlooked never taken for granted

Toby cooper

In a year nerdwriter1 will do a video on you

Fin Champion

Not sure what the change in style is going to bring, but it's new and change is a good thing :)

96allskills

I must say I couldn't stop smiling, it was weird and uncomfortable but it was amazing and I'm both scared and exited for what is to come.

UnSafeStu

As the screen started to shake, I thought, oh hell this is where it all comes undone. Loved it!

I'm loving the branding but I think it needed a bit more ranting about how shit the game is. I think it was actually really interesting though

Re you ok we're worried

Stephen Staver

I get wanting to reinvent yourself, although I will miss many of the iconic parts of classic NerdCubed. At the same time, I am excited at seeing the new “advertisers be damned” mentality of the channel. I mean, I guess that is why we back you on Patreon lol

Birchwood

I think you crossed the line without going to far over the line. Fuckin amazing video.

Think the uncomfortable-ness is a welcome change - gives some variety, and I'll take not knowing what's about to happen over being "consistent". Looking forward to where you go with this!!

Nathan

You managed to bring a new level of uncomfortable to me, far above what I was expecting, so there's that. But also you brilliantly managed to bring entertainment to a topic that would otherwise have bored me stiff and I assume that's what you where going for and just to round this off, Welcome Back!

Kyle Myers

The video did a thorough job of making me uncomfortable.....and I liked it!

George Farren

I feel like I heard a bit of Rick &amp; Morty in your voice.

Joshua Aarons

I really enjoyed it, and if this is only the start of all the weird, crazy shit then I am 100% down for the uncomfortable ride! It's good to have you back.

Matthew Penman

Love the new content, the new branding as well. I just wish that Youtube wasn't a pizza orgy

I hate it and I think that's why I love it.

Simon Robinson

It's bold, massively bold. I have mad respect for you and what you're doing. I think, following this first video, if weird is what you are promising then I have no doubts that's what we're going to get. I'm interested to see how it comes to fruition. Massively different, maybe for the best?

I thought it started off hilarious, and then repeated the same shit 9 times and got kind of boring. Which is the first time I've said that about a nerdcubed video.

Toby cooper

In a year you'll be a serial killer

Amy Ravenwood

It was odd, which is what I watch you for and why I just joined Patreon for you. So...unsure but staying with you. So success!!

Didn't know what to expect but I loved it

HaphazardPanda

Fuck the system, right? Adored the vid, hyped for more like it :D

MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!

Honestly i was not expecting anything that happened. Part of me hated all of it and that's why I had to watch to the end. One of the most enjoyable and uncomfortable experiences of my week. Looking forward to the horrors coming!

Addison Reilly

I simply adore the fact that there are still ads on this

Toby Daniell

I tweeted you a beautiful comment someone put on your video. I promise. You'll love it.

Ben James

A lovely town, you say? This can only end well...

Prada

Is every video going to be that unsettling, or was this just to show YouTube you aren't fucking around? Either way, this is going to be incredible.

BananaTycoon

I absolutely loved every second of it

Uncomfortable - TICK!

Joël Mentor

This was the weirdest fucking thing, and I loved it.

Aidan Rayner

I'm honestly way too tired to write out a massive review, but I loved the entire video. The artsy beginning and end, the "lol fuck youtube's new rules!" thing, and the logo? DAMN. I didn't like it much at first but now I think the old logo is actually a little childish and tacky, the new one is gorgeous. The dubstep at the end I thought was going to be crap but actually, it fits the logo well and I quite liked it. Can't wait to see more from you Dan! &lt;3

Kai

That was more surrealist art than a YouTube video. It was wonderfully uncomfortable. I am, I think, perhaps, entertained.

Sophie Wyllie

I think the irl portion kinda threw me out of the surreallness

Purple Disarray

I love the idea! I can't wait to see how it all goes!

How were there advertisements on it???

Tinytows VR next week! Hurray!

It was amazing. Uncomfortable, but I watched every second of it. It couldn't take my eyes off it.

Sophie Wyllie

It was. Perfectly uncomfortable

Rachel Wolfe

I don't like being uncomfortable, but I like the end music. Source?

Xelias

Change your patreon to "Nerdcubed is creating the video equivalent of a mental breakdown." Okay, first video watched. Some good, some bad. 1) I love the new branding, music, logo, fade out at the end, etc. looks gorgeous, fuck those people who don't know how to enjoy neat design. 2) The start (up to the start of the slide show) and the last end bit were amazing, hoping to see a lot of that from now on. 3) the middle bit... I get the message the add unfriendliness, the swearing, the mbreakdown... But I thought that it missed a point, and it felt a little bit like one of YAthzee low energy stream/talk (like the drown outs, but without Gabe(so, without soul)) I get it, but I don't think that it was entertaining. interesting : Yes, Untertaining, not really... I'd have loved something... "Higher quality" I guess ? A more energetic start, with smother transoition between screen and proffesional highlight of dumb mobile phone game, that descent into a swqearing rampage ? Rather than a slow start that just fizzles out 'till the swearing fuckfest ? All in all, great video, love the title, love the uniqueness, but Something more entertaining, and maybe with an idea behind it ? (like, The game was just a prop, it wasn't the subject, you didn't critisize the game, you just used it for the breakdown) a critique oer a reflection on youtube/gaming ? Rather than just a sort of "parody" of the worst content possible for youtube ? I'm not sure if I'm clear... But in any case, I'm glad to be here to witness you destroy your channel. (ps: post your videos on Vid.me or something else. screw youtube, take TB, Wheezy, MATN, Jim, All the "middle" big one and drag your subs along, youtube is a burning pile of shit and nothing keeps the youtubers there anymore) <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6DbQx4iDa0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6DbQx4iDa0</a>
