Fairy Nuff

You fear the tpose bear the same way you fear a spider in a sock. If somebody threw a sock at you, you probably wouldn't care, but the fact that you know there's a spider in it would scare the shit out of you.

Patrick Jackson

It was a weird one wasn't it. Felt like the episode didn't really finish... just stopped.

Siffrin Greene

I'm about 11 min in so I have no clue if the mention this at all but like Didn't they lead a whole load of spiders into the safe room and just sorta forgot about them, those guys are gonna either get out because the hotel owner forgets their in there/some random guy letting them out and get eaten alive and now you have a spider problem again or they are just going to all end up eating each other and than starve to death which I'd say is even more inhuman than letting the one suffocate

Alex Janmo

I feel like trying to overstuff the episodes has happened every week so far

Alex Janmo

In my opinion this was a very strong episode, albeit with some issues particularly with yaz and the ending. This is maybe my favourite of the season so far, but if this is considered the weakest of the season then that's a good thing for me

I dunno, Rosa Parks was quite a big deal!

Siani Marsh

It has been Jodie's morality the whole season. She let the alien blow himself up with the bombs she put in him but got pissed when that other guy kicked him off. She didn't care that the bad guy in Rosa got sent back in time because she didn't do it.

kai Nolan

Dan's thing about Tennant's clothes changing, I wonder if they're doing the same thing with Jodie's T-Shirt. It was red in the Rosa episode but blue in the others. Although she was wearing the red at the end of this episode, so maybe Chibnall isn't cleaver enough for that.

Ooooh Project Highrise is on Switch now. How about a completes stream?

Love this Dr Who podcast series but really miss the usual Patreon podcast. I've been rinsing the old episodes over the last few weeks. I loved the recent combined Twitch stream podcast. That was so positive and uplifting. Maybe more of those, as I know Dan is so so busy.

I feel like there was originally a good conclusion where the doctor finds a way to turn them back or send them somewhere they could live, but when they got round to filming the episode they were like "Oh shit we're gonna overrun by like 20 minutes and we're already over deadline for filming, what are we gonna do?" "Fuck it just cut out the ending and have the businessman shoot the big one, no-one will notice!"

Tom Moore

What is that website forum thing that Dan used to see the ratings?

debby

With the businessman getting away with it, I reckon he'll be brought back into it later as the president, which is the only reason I can see for him not getting a scolding from the Doctor

Conner

I miss the old podcasts... doctor who is cool I guess but bring on the games

Benjy8610

i was literally doing the prologue for red dead while listening

Craig (CraigUntlNytTym) Penfold

i did some hunting in rdr2 while listening to this

Shawn Lindsay

The problem is chibnell tried to do a sci-fi episode, as earlier this series he was writing a character drama with a sci-fi edge

Harrison Naftelberg

She was still letting all the other spiders in the bunker starve

Elijah Bigham

Huh? The doctor definitely did not want to let the spider suffocate. Graham asks the doctor “should we just leave it here?” and she says no. She was trying to decide what to do when Dick McYellowtie shot it in the face.

Liam Spain

Did anyone else see Ryan making shadow puppets in the lab?

Grantarg

WHERE IS THE PATREON PODCAST?

Jack zannder

Remember that time the Doctor killed an alien spider queen and her babies? Yeah me neither.

Jellex

One thing I really liked how they kept Grace in the background, out of focus. It's a nice contrast from that same type of "remembering dead people" that's a bit of a cliche, even if she was in focus at the end.

Alex Myagkov

Damn, you really stretched this podcast. The time vortex colour thing is awesome though; I never realised! As for the episode, I agree that the ending was odd; the spiders should have been saved. And the fact that after locking them in the Panic room it was never stated what would happen to them and the episode didn't return to them I think clearly shows that some critical part was cut - it was left unresolved. This I think also answers the morality question; that it was never intended for the doctor to starve the spiders. The same also applies to the business guy - a critical resolution was cut. Also, it would be awesome if you made your re-written series public. Even if they are unpolished, I for one would love to read them.

David Eastman

It harked back nicely to Dr Who and the Green Death

I'm firmly thinking that Chris Noth's Trump-lite is being set up as Chibnall's Harriet Jones, in the sense of him becoming a recurring political power figure with whom the Doctor very much doesn't see eye to eye (except in this case, where that antagonism actually takes place on screen, rather than providing the eventual jumping-on point for the Master), so that somewhere down the line we get some stories on a grander scale featuring an antagonistic US President who has a backstory already in place. It's just the combination of the complete lack of payoff or comeuppance for a character that was written as being so obnoxiously OTT, the big references to his '2020 campaign', and the fact that he's played by Chris Noth, who just seems slightly too prominent an actor to just play a one-off role like this.

Aaron Place

I'M ACTUALLY PLAYING THE PROLOGUE OF RDR2 WHILE LISTENING LMAO

Robert Pearson

I feel they have been spending too much time on earth, there is a universe of crazy and catastrophic events occurring. Also, what has happened on earth is pretty tame and not that big of a deal.

Valthexus

I thought it was a really good episode and it showed the differences and similarities between America and British politics. I could justify the final because I feel like the doctor didn’t realise what was happening until she was there and she was thinking of a way but then it gets shot and cut short. But then after listening I can see how that shows how the writer was fast in his ways. Yazz (however you spell it) feels a bit all over the place like no one knows who she actually is trying to be... police officer, doctor lover, love story with the other one. Like there’s hardly no development on her just dabbling in things. Love the doctors performance though. I didn’t watch last season because I could not stand Capaldi so it’s nice to see some good doctor who.

Dan, would it ever be possible to read some of these Doctor Who scripts? :)

Benjamin Ford

Let me be dumb in peace lol

A Sleepy Lesbean

I really liked it until that resolution.

Benjamin Ford

Damnit your logic is ruining it 😂

Benjamin Ford

Easily one of the best episodes of all time, easily!

Luit van Drongelen

yeeeaaaahhh, I was wondering how much of this Dan had watched ...

Arcade Cat

This is gonna be interesting.
