I enjoyed Rise Of Skywalker. I didnt enjoy Last Jedi. I still maintain that the original trilogy of IV V and VI is the best line of films in the franchise. However I am a very weird Star Wars fan with liking some for their integrity to story and liking some cause pretty lights and effects. I swear I probably have ADHD.

My Star Wars Rankings: Clone Wars TV Show Episode V Episode III Rogue One The Mandalorian Episode VI Episode IV Solo Episode II Episode I Episode VII Episode VIII Rebels TV Show Episode IX

You should know that Taika Watiti is directing and co-writing a star wars film, so we may get the worst star wars film and the best immidatly after
Captain_Cone
I highly recommend the last episode of the Mandalorian. I hope that's the episode that kickstarts a more active plot in S2
Mike Jones
The Mandalorian unfortunately was not good. I actually still haven't watched the last episode, but from the first episode it just felt super confused in what it was trying to go for. Initially it felt gritty, but then it bounced back and became super light. The characters are boring and the plot has almost nothing to it. The episode where they go to the planet in the middle of nowhere and help the tribe is laughably bad, it's basically just a really crap Stargate episode. It's a shame, had a lot of potential which was completely wasted, I do not recommend. My ranking of the Star Wars franchise is (from best to worst): Episode IV Rogue One Episode I Episode II Episode III Episode VI Episode V Solo Episode VII Episode IX Can't place VIII as I need to watch it again but would probably be somewhere in the middle.

All the star wars films are fun even if 3/5 of them are badly done

In an attempt to briefly be one of the cool kids, you know Rion Johnson who directed the one good Star Wars film in the last two decades? I went to high school with his cousins Mark, Nathan, and Bethany...
The Last Jedi was amazing, and this film shit on everything good it did.
Nerd13
I was crying at the film for two reseaons: 1) Some emotional moments that sort of fit but don't really 2) how badly they screw over the film
Nerd13
Rise of skywalker was pritty bad, too much fan service, too much appologising for preveiouse fan service (last jedi), too little concideration for one of the most beloved franchieses in the world
Malachy Hamilton
It doesnt fix everything wrong with them. It just makes Anakin's turn make more sense and is better than most of the films.

The cinematography and colour grading isn't even good. The editing is worse. The music IS great though
Malachy Hamilton
I love star wars. But The Rise of Skywalker was very very hard to get anything from. The Music is still great and C-3PO had his best performance in it. Even the friggin Visual Effects were lackluster. and it was so FRIKING BLUE. and it got rid of the best things about The Best Star Wars film, The Last Jedi. You should watch the clone wars because its so friggin good but also because Darth Maul is awesome in it. Rebels is also excellent (good for s1 and most of 2 but the finale to season 2 is AMAZING, and seasons 3 and 4 are just magnificent) Solo is actually really fun too. Also, because you like the last jedi, watch the following films (written and directed by the same person) Brick The Brothers Bloom Looper Knives Out. Sorry for the long post but it was necessary

Also Dan now that you have the PS2 emulator set up you should do a Simpsons Hit and Run stream, maybe being on PC will give it a usable framerate. Edit: Judging by Sonic Heroes that may not be the case :P
I am almost loath to stand up for this festering dog pile of a movie, but in it's defence the first establishing shot of the the Stormtroopers capturing Chewie does indeed have the two transports in shot. It's a brief 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' shot, but it IS there...

The way Leia's death scene was staged made me think she was force possessing him so that Rey could get the upper hand

Dan, if you disliked revenge of the sith, and loved darth maul, you need to watch the clone wars. it fixes everything wrong with the prequels, and has some brilliant stories. Fair warning, seasons 1 and 2 are serviceable, but not great, season 3 is where it gets kicked into high gear.

I honestly hated this film, very poor and a sad way to end the series. Good comments, Dan ^^
Keegan Clements-Housser
I thoroughly enjoyed this film, but only by completely switching off my brain and not thinking about it. If you just enjoy the spectacle and the gorgeous cinematography and fantastic film score, it's very fun. But seriously. Don't think about it. If you think about it, it's genuinely awful. I'm fairly certain there were more plot holes than actual plot points.

Space NRA is now my head canon
The shots they used of Rey and Leia talking were so fucking boring it looked like the frames from dialogue in the Witcher 3
Alyssa Gordon
Dan, revenge of the sith is the second best star wars movie right behind episode 5
Arcade Cat
I like how the very important moment of the lightsaber snapping in half in episode 8 was completely undone and unaddressed in episode 9 and you even see close up shots of it looking immaculate and new
It was supposed to be called Duel Of The Fates too!
Tim Thompson
Have you seen the leaked script of the original Trevorrow version from when Carrie Fisher was still alive? It was an early draft so a bit nuts but seemed like it would at least have been something a bit more interesting than what we got. Shouldn't be hard to find online but I have the pdf if you want to take a look. Also given you liked episode 8 have you seen Knives Out directed by Rian Johnson? It's a masterpiece.
I feel so bad for laughing at you describing Carrie fishers performance as ghostly
