Halo isn't Microsoft's flagship title. I know they like to pretend it is, but it's not. It's Microsoft Flight Simulator, the most Microsoft game ever made. It's boring, solid and contains more tools and tweaks than you'll ever need, or even know exist. However, it's for everyone. If you want to pick up a controller and piss about in a Cessna above your house, you can. If you want to convert the spare bedroom into the most realistic flight simulator for miles and fly massive jets, you can do that too.
This is what Microsoft have always been good for, making something for everyone. Making something scalable. As much as they'll thrust Master Chief in our faces every time they whip out a new PC-in-a-box, deep down we all know that's not right. That's not Microsoft. Flight Simulator is. That's why they put their name on the box.

If you ever fly more of this for your own entertainment I highly suggest flying out of KPWT Bremerton(Washington USA) and heading West over the Olympics, with this graphics engine that flight would be super neat.

Quick note on the weather: on the top of your screen there's a little arrow pointing down, if you click on that you get a bunch of control elements. In there there is a menu to fuck with the weather in real time with instant updates (source: was in the closed beta for quite a long time) I'd really love a Nerd³ extra video if you end up messing about with this, because the weather effects are really amazing, the real time updates are truly something different!
