And one other thing, you were talking about how you don't like Samurai movies, but have you ever seen Akira Kurosawa's films, most westerns were heavily inspired by his films, and he made non Samurai movies as well. He is hailed as one of the greatest directors of all time as well, really if you have any interest in film then just about of his movies are necessary to watch in my opinion, a good first movie is Yojimbo, most of his movies are available on the Criterion Collection, I'm assuming that's were you got the Godzilla boxset because I own it as well
