September Prints Shipping Update!

To those in the UK, your September prints have *Finally* shipped and you should be getting them through your letterbox in the next few days - we really really hope you enjoy them. I had to carry all 30KG of them to the post office today, which was great fun.
To those in the rest of the world, it turns out shipping them internationally is more complicated than we initially expected. Mainly due to brexit, *all* Large Letters and above being sent internationally from the UK need an individually filled out uniquely barcoded customs form attached. The only way to do that at scale (Since me manually filling hundreds out with a pen isn't feasible) is using systems that Royal Mail Business has.
HOWEVER, to get a Royal Mail Business Account, you first need a Royal Mail Business account, and prior to that you also need a Royal Mail Business account. Confusing? I KNOW. There's basically three access levels. To get to the level I need I had to fill out an enquiry form and then they will call me.. randomly at any time in the next few days. There is literally no way to call them, or arrange a time, or even call them back if you miss it. They called me twice in the past week, once during a therapy appointment, and the other time I answered and the line was dead. So currently international prints are stuck in a bit of limbo.
I am working on a temporary workaround for this month so I can get these prints of ASAP, but it's not overly practical month to month so hopefully I'll have this Royal Mail Business gubbins sorted for next time.

I set myself up a Royal Mail Business account a few years back and it seemed remarkably archaic as I also had to get in contact with a human to talk through options, which was basically me saying I wouldn't be sending anything in enough bulk for most accounts but the one which is ex VAT would be nice. They then sent me a load of physical order form books and some mail sacks to use for all the mail I wouldn't be sending. I ended up giving the mail sacks to my local post office and storing the order books in a box and never used them cos I just use click and drop on account and confuse the crap out of the post office whenever I hand stuff over and the barcodes don't scan for them cos they're business mail ones. It's a good system and definitely doesn't need modernising 😂

Bit of a shame and confusing that to get a Business Account you must first have a Business Account. Hope this can be sorted without problems. Fingers crossed the international ones can be sent soon.
