🕑 Added 2017-04-03 17:08:42 +0000 UTC So! This post will be slightly different, since I'll be remarking more on my inner thinking rather than art. But don't worry, more art coming this afternoon!First things first: I love the Lion in Steven Universe. Love him. In the season 3 episode "Crack the Whip," there is a standoff moment towards the end which features my favorite shot in the whole series.
It's pretty clear to me that this page will be the following:
P1: Vara hearing People speaking.
P2: He watches as figures run towards Andrew
P3: A close up of the figures racing to Andrew
P4: Vara glaring menacingly at the strangers
Because I've had so much fun drawing Vara, I decided to lay out P4 first. Moreover, I could NOT get Lions expression and that shot out of my head when thinking of how to render his expression.
SO all in all, this is something I love to do all the time; draw inspiration from my favorite shows, movies, games, etc etc and channel that energy into my own work, even if it's something as subtle as an expression from a pivotal or favorite scene on TV. Hence the photo of Lion as I began sketching!
