Accidentally learning 165 different voices, and moving to not working with other people anymore [Update]
🕑 Added 2022-02-24 21:37:14 +0000 UTCIt has been a bit! I've been working very hard (especially in the mental growth department, thank you therapy). Sometimes, systems have issues that create problems over time. So, I've making big changes to the whole system of how I'm doing things. I will be honest, I have no idea how I fit the update/explanations on things into less than 10 minutes of audio. Regardless, basic bullet points are:
- No more collabs with other people (or having heavy direct association with others in general)
- Removing all past collabs with others (most are already gone; others are to follow)
- More self-collabs (similar to this audio), changing current projects to solo
- Because I'm fully independent again, I can go back to feeling more comfortable in making really non-mainstream choices, which is nice
And also, I don't mention it in the audio, but google docs recently released a way better voice-to-text algorithm- so my (unfortunately still pretty messed up) right hand gets a lot more rest, and I can do scripts a lot easier!
If you're interested in learning your own voices, this video <link> among others helped me a lot! I may have watched it, like... 8 times. A lot of voices have to do with combo-ing together certain stuff (like, raspiness+floatiness+direct, or light+nasally+fast), which actually means that if you can learn how to change specific parts of your voice, the amounts of different distinct characters you can do increases exponentially. So that's been cool to learn. Can be good if you like DND or you're trying to make audio-related stuff yourself (among other potential reasons).
I've also been practicing voice feminization since (among other reasons) I'd like to eventually do F characters in audios. If you're interested in that, "trans voice feminization" and similar terms turns out to be a REALLY effective search, and the reason for that is because transitioning M to F with hormones doesn't change your voice, unlike transitioning F to M, which *does* actually deepen+change your voice. So, this leads there to being a lot of extremely in-depth tutorials/resources on it, which is really beneficial- even if it does take a few months to properly learn. I looked for masculine voice guides and was pretty surprised on how much more uncommon they are- while there's still a lot of resources, this <link> among some scattered others were pretty much the only super in-depth ones I could find. Interesting stuff!!

One thing I think I (and probably a lot of other people) can have difficulty with is making those tough decisions. ‘Cause damn, it’s hard. And yeah, it is extremely uncommon, but I’ve seen it around more times than what’s comfy. There’s a lot of other stuff as well that I really don’t want any part of, and the only way to make 100% sure of that is either work with a small ring of people or independently- and since everything goes on anonymously (usually) and online here, independent stuff seems like the route. Definitely don’t blame people for leaving after bad times. It’ll be an interesting process! I’ve already got a few plans on how to do things, which’ll likely be adapted and developed more over time :D
I am actually a large mass of 165 cats in the shape of a person, one for each version of myself. The cat mass expands day by day until I will, eventually, overtake the world But yes!! Hoping the vocal stuff goes well. I’ve seen that a lot of voices can take anywhere from 2-10 months to fully develop, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s not something one can speed up by effort alone. We’ll see how stuff goes :D and hope you’re doing good too!!! ❤️

Congrats on putting in the work for your mental health! I'm so happy that you made some tough decisions that you can be proud of moving forward. Therapy is rough but it is great in providing perspective and tools to address issues. It is a bit (a lot) scary to hear that there's someone going around trying to dox other creators because that's just not okay on any level. I don't blame creators for disappearing and deleting stuff if that was happening. Anyway, I'm so excited to see what you'll be creating moving forward and I hope you'll have a blast doing it!

I'm glad you figured what's better for you!! Self care is very important and I'm glad you're doing so. I can't wait for Moral 2.0, Moral 3.0, Moral 4.0, ... and Moral 165.0!!
