Curiosity is an interesting thing and it's easier to be curious about horrific things when you're personally so far removed from it. I think as long as it's healthy curiosity and affects no one else, it's good to welcome it while giving thanks that the truly sick ones are very less in number :)

It's difficult. So much work goes into each episode. Many many hours. It's hard to keep up with one per week especially while working full time. But lucky i have an amazing team working with me.

Basically take the "leave no Stone unturned" approach. Everything we can find on a case we read/watch/study. Books. Documentaries. News reports. Court rulings. Forums. Random websites. And whatever else we find.

I've always thought it's too easy of a way out. Lock them in a cell for life. But then again it's not like I'd loose any sleep if people like Brady and Hindley were executed. Tough question when you think about it. I'm sure your point of view would be very different if you were a family member of a victim too.

I'm so impressed by the obvious respect you have for the families of the victims - I think it's terrible that these killers are kept in the limelight by periodic attention by the media but seldom do people remember the names or details about those who've suffered because of their actions - I think that the podcasts do this very respectfully

Yeah definitely. The number one thing in our mind when doing episodes is respect to the victims. Too often in this genre they are simply glossed over like they don't matter. Which I think is terrible.

I'm amazed at the amount of detail that you put into the show, how do you research them?

What's your view on the death penalty? Should some of the killers you've covered have been killed themselves?

One thing I've noticed is that you always tell the background "family" story on the main players of each episode you create. I think that's really unique - the level of detail you often give - and really gives us a more complete picture of the person you're describing. Is that why you do it?

I've not figured out what keeps me drawn to the show, morbid curiosity or what but I'm glad that you mix them up with ones like the north Hollywood shootout , because I don't think I could listen to too many cases like Katherine knight or Snowtown, there are truly evil people in this world.

There was a painting called Myra exhibited in the Royal Academy of Art in London during 1997 that caused huge controversy - it was her mugshot enlarged to 2.7 by 3.4 m and the entire work was made using casts of an infant's hand to build up a mosaic of black, grey and white handprints - people resigned from the Academy over it and Winnie Johnson (the mother of one of the victims) asked for it to be removed

Some are cases I've heard about that I really didn't know anything about but wanted to learn more. Wanda Beach and Snowtown are examples there. Some I remember when they were happening and wanted to cover them myself. North Hollywood shootout as an example. Some I randomly stumble across while researching other cases. Bella and Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman examples there. Some are suggested by listeners. Keith Warren and Lindsay Buziak are examples there. So it's a whole mix of different things. Some are suggested by listeners that are cases we always had marked down to cover. The Moors is the most recent example of that.

Hmmm good question alright. My feeling on it is that Brady definitely still would have 100% but Hindley maybe not. Although she obviously had it in her, so maybe she still would have. I'm not sure on Hindley. But Brady yes.

I'm a big fan of the Joe Rogan experience. There are so many episodes though I'm always behind at least 5 episodes. Usually more. Hardcore history is one I get excited about when there is a new episode.

No it was definitely off the cuff. I had no experience in anything like it before. I had no idea what I was doing and wasn't expecting to get any further then 3 episodes. But I'm glad I decided to try it. It was 'lucky' that I had time off work due to an injury. I needed something to fill my time. So I decided to try it. Now I need more time!!

The Brady Hindley relationship has been the subject of books, documentaries, chat shows and a made for tv film - the common theme is whether the two of them were/are just intrinsically evil or whether their relationship brought about their shocking acts - in other words - would they have done those terrible things if they hadn't met? Any thoughts?

Lots of emails and skyping. It's actually not too difficult. No doubt it would be better if we could all meet up in person once in a while. But it seems to be working so far. I record my narration then send the file to Mike in the UK. Only takes an hour or two usually. Then he does his thing and sends it to Andrew in the US. The internet is a beautiful thing.

Hi Jamee. It was Snowtown the one that disturbed me most. The Moors may have overtaken it. But too be honest all of them disturb me in some way. None of them are happy stories. I don't really have a favourite. The north Hollywood shootout maybe. Or the the solved ones that we have been able to bring some attention too. Lisa Marie Young. Lindsay Buziak, Helen Munnings.

Hi Dana. Thankyou. The research team is by far the most time consuming thing we do. Basically we find every piece of information we can about a case. Put it all together and write the script from that. It can take anywhere from 1 week to 10 weeks (for the big three partners). It's a grind and a lot of hard work but worth it when the episode comes together.

Hi Rachel. My first true crime book was a tv mini series that aired here in Australia called Blue Murder. It was about a series of crimes and criminals and one notorious crooked cop in Sydney during the 80s/early 90's. It was a fictional show based on true events. After that I read all the relevant books on the people involved. I think the show is still on YouTube. That was my first hook.

Hi Sam. Last we checked it was something like 60 per cent US. 10 per cent Australia. 10 per cent Canada. UK was about 5 per cent. This aren't exact. Just rough. It was a while ago now. But I'm certain our U.K. Listener base is much higher now. Which no doubt coincides with the UK cases we have done recently.

Hi Preethi. Thank you. I found Mike, or he actually found me, when I was looking for someone to help with sound quality and production. That was at episode 7. Andrew was introduced to us through a mutual friend about episode 20. Around episode 30 I realised I couldn't go on researching writing and recording every episode alone and Vicky happened to get in touch with us offering her services. So that worked out perfect. Same with Anna. She emailed us a few months ago and we were actually thinking we could use some more help at the time. It was like it was all meant to be.
