🕑 Added 2017-09-16 15:52:09 +0000 UTCDuring childbirth, Lynetta Jones’ deceased mother appeared to her in a vision and prophesied that the baby would one day become a great man. Lynetta’s son was Jim Warren Jones, who grew up to become the leader of a new religious movement he named ‘The Peoples Temple’.
As word of Jones’ egalitarian ideals and miraculous healings spread, his following increased. But all was not as it seemed. Behind closed doors, Jones abused his power and his congregation. Eventually, he began speaking more and more frequently about one concept in particular: revolutionary suicide.

I've seen a few documentaries and listened to a few other Podcasts on Jonestown and honestly I wasn't that excited when I saw that was the next case; however, now that I've listened to the episodes all I can say is holy cow - amazing job! So much new information that I didn't know. Incredibly interesting and well done. Thanks for being the absolute best <3!

Wow! I am going to listen to this right now. I've seen documentaries and a couple of somewhat-cheesy movies about Jonestown. I agree with Matt, I want to hear the Casefile viewpoint. I'm expecting to have some ideas reinforced and some probably destroyed. That's a good thing!

Will be interesting to hear the Casefile take on it!
