🕑 Added 2017-10-20 01:17:34 +0000 UTC It is time to kick this off. There will be 7 teams! The team lists were created at random.org and you will find them below. Exchange your email or contact details with the other people in your team. (In the comments below is probably easiest).Organise a group email/facebook group/skype/google hangout etc etc and get to know each other. Each team will submit a list of cases they would like to cover (maximum allowed is 5 per team - one each. But it doesnt have to be that many). From there, the casefile team will have a look and then pick one from your list. That will be the case your entire team covers. You will all work together on it as a team.
Each team will have a different case. Please keep the cases small and manageable - no Jack the Ripper/WM3/OJ Simpson type cases that are massive.
We recommend submitting all the facts, chronologically, with links to sources. Dive as deep as you can into those facts. If you want to have a crack at writing a narrative - you can do that as well, we won't stop you.
Email your teams list to host@casefilepodcast.com Just one person from the team can email the list.
If we dont feel any of the cases you submitted are suitable we will get you to re submit.
There will be no time limit on the actual case itself. We understand people have lives and are busy. However please try and get your teams list of potential cases done by the end of the month if possible.
RULES:
1. Enjoy it. Find as much as you can about the case. The winning team may be able to hear their hard work actually produced by us. (We may also select more then one winner)
BUT;
1. Keep your research and writing to publicly available resources.
2. Don't go contacting anyone involved in a case. No family. Law Enforcement or anyone. If you feel someone with involvement in a case may be suitable to talk to, mark that down on your submission and allow us to decide and make that approach.
3. You arent working for casefile or representing casefile. So please dont go telling people that you are. This will have the potential to cause issues for us. This is a hobby project you are all volunteering to do. Not work for us.
4. NO PLAGIARISM. It's the internet. We will find out. Instant disqualification obviously. Make sure all sources you used are listed.
5. Remember what casefile is about, you are all fans of the show so I shouldn't need to say anymore about this point.
6. Make it a team effort. Be respectful to each other. There is no 'i' in team. If you don't like people in your team - get to like them. We won't be managing disagreements or running mediation sessions. We have casefile episodes to work on :)
7. Read rules 2 and 3 again. These are big ones. Any breach of these will result in disqualification. I cant emphasis these points enough.
8. Read rule 4 again.
A quick point on the teams. Katie hasn't responded yet. This whole thing was Katie's idea. So when/if she responds we will allocate her a team.

Yes we're all in it. Sorry I assumed because of the way your patreon profile comes up you had Facebook and also I just don't know anyone that hasn't got it. I'm sure we'd all be happy to use an alternate form of communication, because plain old email is pretty hard to do group discussion and research

Just a quick note on submitting the list of cases your group wants to cover - this doesn't have to be anything more then the name of each case and a sentence or two about them, or a link to a page. It doesn't need to be detailed at all.
