Casefile True Crime
Hi Adrian, Amber is right. We may still do the occasional one from time to time, but they are no longer a perk.
Amber Simpson
My understanding is no. Casefile made an announcement around the time TuneIn was introduced about a shake up of Patreon and I remember reading that the magazines were too time intensive to create for new cases but you can still access them on the website for past issues.
Adrian Simpson
Will any more PDF scripts or magazines be produced? I really like them.
Adam Murphy
I'm in Alstonville, 5 mins from where the whole Simone Strobel murder occurred. I drive past where her body was found every day to work. Very surreal.
Adam Murphy
Haha I know!! NZ were paying something stupid like $1.02... Tonga are still paying $10 though mate. The hard part is putting money on a team with Fafita in it.
Joan G
That's funny because I live on Long Island very close to where Peter Weinberger was kidnapped and the host described it as small town. It's like 30 minutes outside of NYC and one of the wealthiest areas (and highest taxes) in the country. I was laughing at small town.
Ami Loyd
Thank you so much for all that you do! To add to Catherine Smith's comment about crimes being solved, have there been any updates? I personally would LOVE an update episode! Many of the cases that you've covered are not at all present in the news and media in the US. I've listened to every episode and would be so excited to hear you cover any progress or revelations!
Catherine Smith
Yeah really liked how they convinced Daniel’s killer he was part of a crime syndicate
Stuart Sharman
Just love the show and as a big True Crime Podcast fan, I think the Daniel Morecombe episode was probably the only time I have ever done a big fist pump and a "go the cops!!" on my drive to work. Brilliant stuff. And super important subject matter
Janine Botfield
Cheers!
Stuart Sharman
One of my mates was good mates and used to drink with Chopper back in the late 70's, early 80's. Has some amazing stories to tell if you're ever interested
Stuart Sharman
I am in Carrum Downs and the "Casefile: Frankston and Tynong North Serial Bus Tour" could be run out of my garage
Casefile True Crime
Very important I believe.
Casefile True Crime
Hi Catherine. No none solved. Have forwarded some tips on to law enforcement sent in from Listeners - how valuable they were we have no idea.
Richard Gray
Thanks Casey 👍
Casefile True Crime
Thankyou everyone for joining in today! Always a pleasure chatting to you all. Again apologies if I missed anyone. A few gremlins in my phone today. Speak to you all next time.
Casefile True Crime
I’ll get googling.
Catherine Smith
Have any of the unsolved crimes become solved because of your podcast?
Catherine Smith
It’s helpful when you add in information like foundations the family of victims have created
Catherine Smith
Yeah the police corruption was covered a little as part of a case file case. But I’m sure there’s much more for in-depth case study
Casefile True Crime
Awesome. Please do. Just inbox us anything you come up with. Oh yeah there was some nasty stuff going on back then. 80s too.
Casefile True Crime
Hi Theresa when they are available and appropriate and make sense for the episode we will always use them. Definitely. But they aren’t always available.
Catherine Smith
Maybe something from Panama papers ?
Janine Botfield
I've just been reading some great stuff on police corruption in Qld and NSW during the 70's. Seriously shocking stuff. I'm sure there would be some great corporate stuff too. I'll have a wee think and get back to you.
Theresa S
And thank you for answering all the questions!!
Theresa S
One more question here.. I really like when you intersperse the short audio clips. Is this something we may see more of? I just finished the Yorkshire Ripper..
Casefile True Crime
Hi Janine we definitely would yes. For the right case. Any suggestions?
Janine Botfield
Hiya. I was wondering if you'd considered doing any white collar crime stuff. Corruption etc....
Casefile True Crime
I’m happy to keep answering if there is more questions? Or if I’ve missed some. The app has been playing up and kicking me out. Seems okay now though. Hopefully I haven’t missed anyone.
Casefile True Crime
Nah not really. Maybe though. Wouldn’t completely rule it out.
Casefile True Crime
Yeah would really like to do this. Focussing full time now hopefully it will allow more opportunity to do so. Speak to police and people involved etc.
Casefile True Crime
Sport. Fitness. Music. Read. Beer wine and spirits!
Casefile True Crime
Nah. Australia will flog them. I wish I got on Fiji last night though!
Dylan Buckle
Has this gentleman "Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read" ever come up as topic for an episode?
Casefile True Crime
Yes. As high as 80 per cent some results have been.
Casefile True Crime
Yeah it’s interesting to see the results for sure.
Casefile True Crime
Not quite gruesome enough? No.
Theresa S
Do you have any interest in traveling to some of the locations covered? Not in a macabre way, just to see the surrounding areas. I live 20min from the house where Jennifer Pan lived and your description was spot on..
Adam Murphy
Have you put a cheeky on Tonga to win the World Cup yet??
Dylan Buckle
What do the Casefile team do to unwind?
Casefile True Crime
👍
Casefile True Crime
A few minor errors and typos and mis pronunciations have come up yeah. Nothing huge though that I’m aware of.
Casefile True Crime
Definitely. It’s on the list.
Dylan Buckle
Have you found in your member surveys that listeners tend to be female?
Casefile True Crime
Thank you very much Guilherme. Much appreciated. Good night.
Dylan Buckle
Is there a case that you have started but given up because its not quite gruesome enough?
Amber Simpson
Have you found the results of the member surveys helpful ie length of podcast, series or standalone etc?
Mikki
Congratulations on the amazing news coming out of Australia this week! 🏳️🌈
Jamee K
October 20th.
Jamee K
Yup! Really well done. <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/criminal/id809264944?mt=2&i=1000393769591" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/criminal/id809264944?mt=2&i=1000393769591</a>
Casefile True Crime
Did Criminal just do one on the escape from Alcatraz?
Casefile True Crime
Awww 🙁
Casefile True Crime
Hi Ben. It used to be Snowtown. But there are so many now I’ve lost count. So many tough ones.
Jamee K
Yesssss
Dylan Buckle
Good question
Jamee K
Oooo good question
Ben Cording
Are there any episodes where you’ve found out later on that you got something terribly wrong, or were misled by incorrect sources?
Dylan Buckle
Have you ever considered covering the Bondi Beach gay murders.....?
Theresa S
The pace and delivery is what really works for me, the seamless editing makes it sound like one read through lol
Dylan Buckle
Please release a blooper episode for patrons only with Mike Migos doing Comedy Scoring...LOL
Casefile True Crime
Oh yes! So so many. If only you could hear the recording process. An hour episode can take up to 6 hours to record on a bad day there are that many bloopers and mistakes.
Guilherme Seabra
Hell yeah, if you guys need help on translating stuff from Portuguese to English if you decide to do a full episode on Madeleine I can help you out. It's definitely one of the cases I really want you guys to cover :) Anyway, it's getting late here, good night y'all, have a good day/night
Casefile True Crime
Thank you Erica 👍
Dylan Buckle
Good question
Jamee K
I think the new and up-and-coming pods try and give each other love and shout outs and assume the more established and popular ones don’t need it. My theory anyway. ☺️
Ben Cording
Sorry if this has already been answered, but what has been the most disturbing or difficult case to research/speak about?
Theresa S
I don’t need any other true crime podcast lol. Found the best!
Casefile True Crime
😬
Dylan Buckle
That's interesting because all of the True Crime Podcast mention each other.......but no one ever mentions the mighty Casefile.
Casefile True Crime
I’ll definitely watch the World Cup though. I always do!
Jamee K
Sword & Scale, Canadian True Crime, Dark Topic, Criminal, Trace Evidence, True Crime Fan Club and Court Junkie are mine.
Casefile True Crime
Oh definitely. You may find a full episode dedicated to Madeline in the future. It’s in the list of potential future eps anyway. Yep I’ve definitely heard of the team. I’m not much into the round ball games though. Tried to watch the Australian World Cup qualifier the other night. To much diving and acting hurt for my liking.
Karen Droisen
The very best true crime pod (besides Casefile) is Undisclosed.
Casefile True Crime
Hi Diana. Yeah really good. It’s nice being able to focus my attention fully to the pod. Haven’t skipped any weeks since - so far anyway 😀
Casefile True Crime
I’d like to cover lots of the bigger ones. While still mixing in the more unknown ones as well.
Casefile True Crime
Hi Erica. Yeah we would definitely consider it in the future.
Joan G
Knowing only what you presented in the episodes, I also feel like they may have made it. The letters and flowers to their mom could have been a hoax of course, but I like to think they were hardened criminals with a soft spot for their mom.
Jamee K
I think so too. Especially after listening to the recent Criminal episode on it.
Casefile True Crime
What are your all fav other ones?
Casefile True Crime
Thanks Joan. Yeah I really like doing ones like this occasionally. That are a little different. Wasn’t sure how they would be received but most seemed to like it so far which is great. I have changed my mind so many times. I keep going back and forth. Slightly leaning towards - they made it.
Theresa S
The episodes sound so perfect.. are there any bloopers, or sections that you have to start over? And how long does it take to write an episode script? Greetings from Canada, love the show 😊
Karen Droisen
my fave, too. I look forward to it every week..
Casefile True Crime
Haha. No Anna is a big fan and she made me listen. It’s good! I’m sure I’d like some of the others as well. Just no time. Plus too much true crime already.
Karen Droisen
ok, found it in my feed. psyched to listen to it!!
Erica Ocaranza
Just want to say this is my favorite podcast ❤️
Mikki
We don’t need to talk about football anymore. LOL
Karen Droisen
dang, how did I miss it?!
Casefile True Crime
Hi Karen we already have. Way back at episode number 2.
Karen Droisen
The Tamam Shud case, also known as the Mystery of the Somerton Man, is an unsolved case of an unidentified man found dead at 6:30 am, 1 December 1948, on Somerton beach, Glenelg, just south of Adelaide, South Australia.
Karen Droisen
<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamam_Shud_case" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamam_Shud_case</a>
Casefile True Crime
More then the performance they put up last week? What was that!
Karen Droisen
Astonishing Legends podcast did 3 or 4 episodes on it. I've been obsessed since then.
Guilherme Seabra
Benfica, from Lisbon, Portugal! :D
Guilherme Seabra
Also, I'm hoping you'll cover the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. That was such a huge occurrence here in Portugal and it involved both Portuguese and British investigators. You mentioned her in one of the episodes, do you think it may be worth a full episode? ( <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Madeleine_McCann" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Madeleine_McCann</a> ) Btw, Benfica is a club from Lisbon, Portugal, does it ring a bell? :D
Diana Jacobacci
Hello Hello! How has the transition to full time podcaster been?
Erica Jewett
They did the somerton man, I think it was episode 2
Casefile True Crime
The name definitely rings a bell where from?
Erica Jewett
Hey! Would you ever do a series on the Zodiac killer & Arthur Leigh Allen?
Joan G
Loved the Alcatraz episodes. Seemed a little different from the normal true crime podcasts I've come to expect, in a good way. Do you have a theory on what happened to the 3 who escaped?
Joan G
I think he's done it?
Joan G
I think being a jets fan just hurts the soul in general 🤣
Casefile True Crime
Awesome to hear Richard 👍 always makes me happy to hear that people are improving there health and fitness while listening. There are some extra patron perks on the way. A new mini episode and the audio AMA with Mike and Anna. So stay tuned!
Jamee K
You just like Canadian True Crime because she’s Aussie! 😜😜 hehe
Karen Droisen
Also called Tamam Shud case
Karen Droisen
Have you considered covering The Somerton Man? Fascinating case
Casefile True Crime
*no
Casefile True Crime
I don’t listen to true crime ones know. I have heard Canadian true crime though. That is good. And searching for Rachel Antonio by David Murray. - I’ve heard there is some other cracking crime pods out there but I get enough true crime with casefile.
Mikki
😭as a Jets fan, that hurts my soul.
Casefile True Crime
No. Not yet!
Guilherme Seabra
Also, do you know Benfica? (my soccer team)
Casefile True Crime
Hi Jamee. Yep these ones will appear on the recorded AMA with Mike and Anna. The audio version. I do a typed one and a recorded one. The recorded one will be out later this month 😀
Richard Gray
Hi Casey, your show is fantastic, love it. Since listening to your podcast, I now walk 15km each day, my dog is very much as fit as a butchers. What part of Australia are you situated? Keep up the amazing podcast and please keep throwing us Patreon members a little extra 😃👍
Jamee K
3. Do you listen to any true crime podcasts? If so, what’s your favorite? :)
Jamee K
2. Has anyone ever recognized you by your voice?
Jamee K
1. Now that Casefile is so popular, do you feel people are trying extra hard to invade your privacy or figure out your identity?
Jamee K
I posted these questions a few weeks ago so if you answered somewhere else feel free to tell me to shut up 😉
Casefile True Crime
Absolutely
Casefile True Crime
👌
Casefile True Crime
Patriots!!
Guilherme Seabra
Can Casey start being your pseudonym? 😂
Jamee K
Casey? Lol! Love it.
Mikki
NFL! Who is your team?
Casefile True Crime
I love sports! Rugby League. NFL. MMA. Cricket are my favs.
Guilherme Seabra
Do you like sports? If so, what do you like watching (or practicing)? :D
Casefile True Crime
Hi Guilherme
Guilherme Seabra
Hello!
Casefile True Crime
Hi Clare😀
Casefile True Crime
